Well, we took a swing on the Athletics moneyline yesterday with a somewhat-favorable matchup against Tony Gonsolin, and, well, we were wrong.
The Dodgers won yesterday’s game 10-1, and today, we have the Dodgers sending Julio Urias to the hill against JP Sears.
Now, most teams would look forward to facing Urias, primarily because of his recent performances. He’s allowed 11 runs over his last two games, while Sears allowed one run in his last outing but eight runs in the two previous games.
The problem, though, is that the Athletics are an exceedingly bad team, ranking dead last in the league in batting average (.223), RBIs (376 on the year), runs per game (3.59), and ranks relatively low in numerous other statistics.

The Royals are 34-75 on the year, and the Mets are 50-57. The Mets had a massive fire sale, reinforcing their disappointing season. They have Carlos Carrasco on the mound today, and he’s been abysmal this season, going 3-5 with a 6.40 ERA. The Mets lineup has also been poor, scoring just 4.41 runs per game (18th in the league). Fortunately, the Royals and starter Brady Singer are similar or worse.
