Looking at a Mavericks vs. Nuggets prediction, we can’t help but look anywhere besides Nikola “Joker” Jokic. His line for points here is set at 26.5. This season, Jokic is averaging 26.2 points per game and has scored 29, 22, 28, 27, and 25 thus far.
Against the Mavericks, he’ll take on a team that ranks 19th in defensive rating. As a center, Jokic will see coverage mostly from rookie Dereck Lively II. We like Lively as a developing player, but he’s walking into a buzzsaw against Jokic. Opponents against Lively are averaging 20 points per game in the paint, and he has a defensive rating of 108. Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction & Odds
NBA Best Bet Today #3: ⭐Jalen Williams Over 19.5 Points (-110) at BetMGM
Oklahoma City heads into this Thunder vs. Warriors prediction and matchup without star point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Without him in the lineup, the team will look to their second-leading scorer, Jalen Williams, to step up.
This season, through five games, Williams is averaging 16 points per game and playing close to 33 minutes per outing. He’s shooting 45.9% from the field. In his rookie season, he shot 52.1% from the field over 75 games and 62 starts. His three-point shooting percentage is also down from last year. He’s below 30% now and was a 35.6% shooter last season.
So far this season, starting from the first game, he’s scoring 16, 14, 13, 19, and 18. His line against the Warriors, who rank fourth in the NBA in defensive rating (104.4), is 19.5 points. Without SGA, Williams will have far more opportunities to score here.
