We're going with Nuggets -4.5 (-110) at FanDuel. The defending champs have played well in their season opener, recording a 60-16 record in regular-season openers. The last two former champions have also covered easily, with the Milwaukee Bucks winning 127-104 to start the 2021-22 season, and the Golden State Warriors beating the Los Angeles Lakers 123-109.
Given the history, we're going to back Denver. The Nuggets also handled the Lakers easily in the Western Conference Finals, sweeping the series in four games and covering in the final two wins, 119-111 and 113-111. We're going to back the Nuggets on their banner night and follow the trend of past winners having success on opening night.

Phoenix Suns vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction & Odds

The second NBA matchup on Tuesday features the new-look Phoenix Suns taking on the Golden State Warriors. Phoenix made a splash this past offseason by adding all-star guard Bradley Beal, who joins Kevin Durant and Devin Booker to form one of the top perimeter-scoring trios in the league. It's also a revenge game of sorts for new Golden State Warrior guard Chirs Paul, who was previously on the Suns.
We're going to back Golden State and take Warriors -1 (-110) at BetMGM. The Warriors have won their first game each of the last two years, both of which came against the Lakers. There also will likely be early growing pains with the Suns as they work in Beal into the rotation. Phoenix also traded DeAndre Ayton to Portland and will have to get accustomed to playing with Josef Nurkic inside.
There are too many moving new pieces with the Suns for us to want to back them in this spot. We're going with the Warriors and their championship core of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green to get it done for the third year in a row on opening night.
