Sacramento Kings NBA Title Bets Biggest Liability for Sportsbooks

The Sacramento Kings have been one of the biggest surprises in the NBA this season. Sacramento earned its first playoff berth since 2006, ending the longest postseason drought in league history and that has made things interesting for everyone who has been betting on the NBA this season.
Despite the lack of success, it didn’t stop one bettor from backing the Kings. In June, Caesars reported it took a $10,000 bet on the Kings at +75000 to win the NBA Finals, resulting in $7.5 million if it were to hit. Caesars also took another $8,000 on Sacrament to win it all at +35000.
Sacramento has already been a boon for bettors this season. The Kings were +25000 to win the Pacific Division and were able to win their first division title since 2003. Many took to Twitter to post screenshots of their winning Kings tickets.

Even with their success, the Kings are still considered long shots to win it all. Sacramento is +5000 at FanDuel Sportsbook to end its season with an NBA championship and +2000 to win the Western Conference.
The Kings are even underdogs in their opening-round series against the Golden State Warriors at +225, while the Warriors are -275 favorites in the series.

Lakers Liability at PointsBet
With the Kings becoming one of the biggest liabilities at Caesars Sportsbook, it’s the Los Angeles Lakers who are the biggest concern at PointsBet.
The Lakers opened the season at +1400 on many sportsbooks to win the title, but the team’s early-season struggles saw their odds rise up to +10500 in November.
"The Lakers are our biggest outright liability for the Western Conference and for the championship," Kevin Lawler, head of trading at PointsBet, said to ESPN. "They went off at 12-1 at the start of the season, drifted as far as 125-1 in November."
Despite having to qualify for the playoffs through the NBA Play-In Tournament, the Lakers have the eighth-best odds to win the title at +2100 and are 800 to win the Western Conference.
Memphis is a slight favorite over the Lakers in the series at -142, with the Lakers +120 underdogs to win the first round.

Favorites To Win the NBA Finals
The Milwaukee Bucks are the betting favorites at BetMGM Sportsbook.
Milwaukee is +275 to win the title and is followed by the Boston Celtics at +350. The first team from the west on the odds board is the Phoenix Suns at +425. Golden State has the fourth-best odds at +850, while the Philadelphia 76ers round out the top five at +900.
