Who Will Win American Idol Season 22? Episode 4

With no episode last week due to the Academy Awards, "American Idol" was back with a bang on Sunday night.

Judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry dished out a massive 13 Golden Tickets, which booked the lucky recipients a place in Hollywood Week, but they kept their Platinum Tickets in their pockets in the fourth episode of the season.

The first two Auditions episodes of the series saw the panelists hand out two Platinum Tickets, to +100 favorite Abi Carter and +200 second favorite Odell Bunton Jr.

But none of episode four's Golden Ticket recipients received an upgrade to allow them to skip the first round of performances during Hollywood Week.

"AGT" Star Takes On "Idol"

One of the stars of the night was gospel singer Quintavious, who some reality TV fans might recognize.

He previously finished fifth on "America's Got Talent" in 2014 when he was just 12, and 10 years on he was back on the small screen to have another go at reality TV glory.

Bryan said the wannabe's audition was a "whole healing" as he, Richie and Perry put him through to Hollywood.

Quintavious is now +200 joint-second favorite to win this year's "American Idol", narrowly ahead of fellow worship leader Reagan Mills, who also impressed on Monday night's fourth Auditions episode.

The +300 chance wowed Richie, who branded him a "fully fledged artist".

Mills is the same +300 price as Michael Rice, who, like Quintavious, has reality TV experience.

He previously represented the UK at "Eurovision", finishing last, and he took part in "The X Factor UK".

Bryan branded him "powerful" as they sent the star through to Hollywood, where +400 wannabe Deida Jeudy will also be after Perry praised her "timeless" voice and Richie branded her a "natural" following her episode four audition.

"Top 10" Star Marie

Cosmetologist Elleigh Marie treated the judges to a performance of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can’t Make You Love Me", and Bryan branded her "top 10".

She is now +400 to win this season's "American Idol", narrowly ahead of fellow episode four star Alyssa Ragu.

Ragu (+500) only went along to support her friend, Julia Davo, who was turned down by the three panelists.

But then Ragu ended up auditioning for the show for a third time, after she previously tried out in season 16 - where she reached the semi-finals - and season 17.

On Monday night, Perry said no, but Bryan and Richie sent her to Hollywood, resulting in Perry walking away from the judges' table.

Other episode four stars included +600 trio Lillian Hackett, D.J. Williams, and Anna Grace, who all progressed to Hollywood, as did +800 chance Athena Jett.

She overcame stage fright to audition, and while Perry wasn't initially sure, she asked Jett to perform "Never Enough" and gave her a yes along with Richie and Bryan.

Fellow +800 shot Conall Gorman was also nervous, but progressed with three yeses.

"Incredible" Amari Progresses To Hollywood

Amari - who revealed to the panel that she is a trans woman - sang Sara Bareilles song "She Used to be Mine", because it meant a lot to her after she lost a lot of people in her life after she transitioned.

Perry and Richie said yes, and while Bryan wasn't a fan of her high notes, he said her emotion was "incredible" and the +1000 wannabe proceeded to Hollywood, as has Dave Fio.

He lost 65 pounds prior to his audition, and Perry praised his "solid" voice.

While Richie rejected him, Fio (+1400) pleaded with Perry and Bryan to send him to Hollywood, and they obliged.

This Sunday's episode will be the fifth and final Auditions episode of the season.
