Rhys Williams' Racing Tips: 1 Selection For Saturday
Horse racing expert Rhys Williams is sharing his best selections for today's racing.
Rhys has been a racing analyst for over 10 years, working for At The Races and most recently as a tipster for Betfair where his tipping column had a 31% ROI over four and a half years.
He often focuses away from the front end of the market, finding angles that aren't evident to most.
Thanks to his 50/1 winner at the Cheltenham Festival (Apolon De Charnie), Rhys has returned a profit of 88.43 points and his profit and loss record for the year stands at +12.93 points from 75.5 points staked.

14:45 Bangor: Rockvale - 0.5pt Win @ 18/1
Rockvale was well beaten on handicap debut over fences when last seen, but I think he could be capable of better than he’s shown so far under rules and can run better than his price suggests.
He showed plenty of promise on his debut when finishing second to McLaurey at Lisronagh when trained by Derek O’Connor. He didn’t build on that on his next two starts, but still ran respectably against some good quality opposition.
Rockvale joined Sam Allwood after that and showed a little on his first start for him in a two-mile novices’ hurdle at Warwick.
He didn’t improve on that in his next two starts and was then sent over fences at Ludlow for his handicap debut, but he looked like he wanted to go left the whole way and his jumping suffered at times and he finished well beaten.
I think dropping him 10lb from that run to today is generous, considering there were clear reasons why he wouldn’t have run up to his best that day - and the return to a left-handed track on drying ground will certainly help Rockvale’s cause.
The hood may also help his relax a bit better in the early stages as he has been keen at times.
There is a concern that he’s just a bit weak under pressure and that he might not be as good as he promised to be early in his career for whatever reason.
There are also a few other obvious potential improvers in this race who started their careers in points, but I think his potential to step up on what he’s shown so far is being overlooked and any 12/1 or bigger appeals.
