Taylor Fritz vs. Yibing Wu Predictions, Odds, Betting Tips

With the main grass and clay seasons completed, Taylor Fritz is set to compete in his first hard-court match since the ATP Miami tournament in March. It's been another strong season for Fritz who has held a No. 9 ranking since 2022 and into 2023. He's 34-16 this season, and hard courts are where he's been at his best, tallying a 20-6 record. But one of those six losses did come against Yu in the semifinals of the ATP Dallas event in February. Fritz is the betting favorite at -310, while Wu is +240.

Wu has cracked the top 100 for the first time in his career, ranking at No. 89. He's 17-14 on the season, including a 13-5 mark on hard courts. Wu does have some impressive wins this season, including victories over Nick Kyrgios, Denis Shapovalov, Fritz and John Isner in the finals to win the ATP Dallas tournament. But that was the last semblance of form he has shown. Wu entered the Atlanta Open on a five-match losing streak before beating Corentin Moutet in straight sets.

Despite Wu winning the first match, we like Fritz to win 2-0 (-105) at FanDuel. After the loss to Wu, Fritz reached another level on the hard courts, winning a title at Delray Beach and going 13-3 in his next 16 hard-court matches. Given how Wu's form has fallen off, we see Fritz winning in straight sets. Wu's win to snap his losing streak becomes less impressive when you consider Moutet was limited to only backhand slices due to a wrist injury. Wu won't have the luxury of facing a limited opponent when it comes to Fritz.

Best Betting PickFritz to win 2-0 (-105) at FanDuel

Maxime Cressy vs. J.J. Wolf Predictions, Odds, Betting Tips

Another marquee American matchup features No. 46 J.J. Wolf facing No. 105 Maxime Cressy. Wolf holds a 2-0 record over Cressy with a Challenger Tour win in 2019 and a victory in 2022 in Italy. Cressy has yet to win a set against Wolf. BetMGM has Wolf as the favorite at -200, while Cressy is at +155.

Wolf advanced to the second round with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win over Jason Jung to open the 2023 Atlanta Open. The win moved Wolf's record to 19-16 this season and 10-7 on hard courts. His No. 46 ranking is also the highest of his career. Wolf has now won four of his last six matches.

This season has been more of a struggle for Cressy, who entered Atlanta having lost 14 of his last 15 matches. A straight-sets win over Alex Michelsen (6-3, 6-3) was able to get him back on the winning side for the first time in nearly a month.

I'm not ready to buy into Cressy returning to a top 100 player after beating an 18-year-old ranked No. 140 in Michelsen. Cressey has yet to win a set against Wolf, and we expect Wolf to continue his dominance once again. Wolf to win (-200) at BetMGM is our best bet for this matchup.

Kei Nishikori vs. Juncheng Shang Predictions, Odds, Betting Tips

Kei Nishikori, a seasoned veteran, has showcased remarkable form in recent matches. In his previous outing against Daniel Evans, he displayed exceptional skill and composure, securing a convincing victory. On the other hand, Juncheng Shang's performance has been promising, but his lack of experience against top-tier opponents might be a factor.

Furthermore, Nishikori's ability to perform well on hard courts, similar to those at the Atlanta Open, gives him a competitive edge. His powerful serve and precise groundstrokes make him a formidable opponent on this surface.

Considering the data from reputable sources and the player's current form, my betting pick for this match is in favor of Kei Nishikori. With odds set at -190 on FanDuel Sportsbook, betting Nishikori to win (-190) at FanDuel seems like a strategic and valuable choice.

Remember, always gamble responsibly, and by leveraging the insights provided here along with the odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, you can make informed decisions as you enjoy the thrilling action at the 2023 Atlanta Open.
