For our best NRFI bets today, we’re looking at an NL East showdown in Miami between the Marlins and New York Mets.
On the mound for the Marlins is Braxton Garrett. Through 28 starts, he’s 9-6 with a 3.67 ERA. He’s been better on the road than at home, though, where he’s 3-4 with a 4.82 ERA.
He’ll go up against the Mets and Joey Lucchesi. Lucchesi is 3-0 on the year with a 2.83 ERA through seven starts. He’s been on a roll lately, allowing just one earned run over his last three starts.
The Marlins and Mets both rank in the bottom four teams in terms of runs scored in the first inning, with 0.44 from Miami and a league-low 0.35 from the Mets.
Garrett doesn’t pitch as well at home, but he’ll be able to do his part here, while Lucchesi, who’s been excellent in limited action, also does the same.

Best Run Line Bets Today: Tampa Bay Rays vs. Los Angeles Angels
⭐ Rays -1.5 ATS (+100) at Caesars
The Rays remain in contention to win the division, trailing the Baltimore Orioles by just 2.5 games in the AL East, but they’ll need to handle Patrick Sandoval and the Los Angeles Angels as they send Taj Bradley to the mound for another MLB prediction.
The outing against the Twins last time out started well for Bradley. Still, he ultimately surrendered four earned runs and two home runs in less than five innings but did strike out seven batters.
Fortunately, the Rays offense is electric. They’re going up against a pitcher in Sandoval with a 4.3 BB/9, allowing 66 walks in just under 137 innings of work.
The Angels lineup is a lot different without Ohtani. The Rays should be able to get on base with ease here against the Angels while Bradley looks to rebound.

We’ll finalize our MLB predictions and picks with some MLB player props to wrap things up today. The Red Sox are coming off a 4-2 win on the road against the Rangers, but they’ll contend with Nathan Eovaldi here.
Eovaldi is 11-4 on the year with a 2.96 ERA in 22 starts. He has 118 strikeouts in 130.2 innings of work, amounting to an 8.1 K/9.
At home this year, Eovaldi is 5-3 with a 3.07 ERA, but his K/9 is 8.6 compared to 7.8 on the road.
The Red Sox strike out 9.08 times on the road and are averaging 10 per game over their last three.
Eovaldi’s line here is 4.5. He’s making his fourth start since returning to the rotation in July. Before that, between May 11 and July 1, he had more than 4.5 strikeouts in a game in all but two starts. He racked up three strikeouts in his last two starts, so he could be warming up for more strikeout “stuff.”
