Buffalo Slots Retaining a Michigan Market Edge in January

Buffalo-themed slots remain popular in the Wolverine State. According to the monthly report from Eilers & Krejcik Gaming (EKG) and Fantini Research, a duo of research firms, the most popular slot game in Michigan for January was Blazing Bison Gold Blitz, from distributor Digital Gaming Corp. This title returns to the top spot in the monthly report after it secured the crown in December 2023.

There has been a trend of buffalo-themed slots assuming the top position in the monthly EKG report. In November of last year, Buffalo from developer Anaxi took the honors, and this month, three Buffalo-inspired games are in the top five. Aside from the previously mentioned Blazing Bison Gold Blitz, Diamond Cash: Mighty Buffalo from Greentube ranks fourth, and the fifth place goes to November 2023's best-performing game, Buffalo, from developer Anaxi.

It's important to clarify that the online game performance report published by EKG uses data supplied by 33 operators active in five markers: Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Connecticut. The report is not definitive evidence of players' preferences in the Great Lakes State. However, it's an indicator based on relative data about slot game preferences among players.

Greentube Is Gaining Traction In Michigan

Diamond Cash Mighty Buffalo is available at BetMGM Casino, a market leader among Michigan casinos online, three years in a row. This operator takes in nearly a quarter of the market revenue and offers one of the biggest slot portfolios with over 1,300 titles.

Diamond Cash: Mighty Buffalo was added to the lobby in the last months of 2023, and its exclusiveness and fresh appeal can account for the enhanced interest from players. The emblematic buffalo of the Wild West inspired this game, harnessing a layout including five reels with three rows and 25 paylines.

Developer Greentube decided upon an RTP of 95% with medium volatility. Some bonus features enhancing the gameplay include Wild Spin, Diamond Cash, Sticky Spin, and Colossal Spin features. This is the first game from the catalog of Austrian-based developer Greentube to assume the top position in the ranking conducted by EKG.

Best Performing Developers

The overall ranking in January has not changed dramatically compared to previous months. Light & Wonder contributed five games among the top 25 listed in the report from Eilers & Krejcik Gaming (EKG) and Fantini Research, the most of any operator.

Next on the list is American Gaming Systems, with four games, followed by International Gaming Technology (IGT) and Digital Gaming Corp. (DGC), each with three games. Evolution, Greentube, Anaxi, and Reel Play have two games each, and with one title each, White Hat Studios and 4thPlayer make the final selection of the top 25 slots for January.

Most of the games qualify for Michigan online casino no deposit bonus, and the remaining two games among the top five titles are Cash Eruption by IGT and Capital Gains from AGS. Newcomers are entering the gaming scene, and judging by market data from 2023 when Light&Wonder lost 3.3% of the market share and IGT 2.4%, competitors can get a foothold in the market.
