As expected, City leads the Champions League winner odds once again. It has been the favorite to win the competition for the past five seasons under Guardiola but only fulfilled these winning odds once.

Being the defending champions, however, we don’t see how anyone stops them.

Top Contenders: Bayern Munich, Real Madrid & Arsenal

Bayern Munich

Bayern is always a team that nobody wants to play against.

It’s incredible pedigree season after season and it’s fantastic history in this competition always bodes well for them. What’s more, traveling to its home stadium, the Allianz Arena, is arguably the toughest away game in Europe, making a two-legged knockout affair against them an almighty task.

⭐  Bayern Munich (+550) at Caesars

Real Madrid

Real Madrid has won this competition 14 times, and as a result, it's pretty much always expected in the final stages of the competition.

In fact, between 2010/11–2017/18, Real reached the Champions League semi-finals in every season and despite not doing so in 2018/19 and 2019/20, it did so again in 2020/21 and went on to win the competition a year later and end up in the semi-finals in 2022/23 as well.

⭐  Real Madrid (+850) at FanDuel

Despite the sportsbooks putting Arsenal as the fourth favorites, it could struggle with its young squad. Effectively, after five seasons out of the competition, Arsenal has a very inexperienced team on the continental level and will likely fall short when matched up against the more experienced Champions League teams.

Champions League Favorite Odds: Manchester City (+220) at BetMGM

⭐  Manchester City (+220) at BetMGM

After over a decade of trying and 15 years on from the takeover of the club, Manchester City finally reached the pinnacle of soccer by winning the Champions League. Now, a season later in defense of its title, City tops the Champions League winner odds once more.

In reality, there is no significant argument against them from winning the tournament again, as Pep Guardiola has only improved his team even more with the signings of Matheus Nunes, Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol and Jeremy Doku.

Truthfully, the only significant argument against City winning the Champions League is Real Madrid’s excellent transfer window that saw it bring in Jude Bellingham, and Bayern Munich’s addition of Harry Kane.

However, with Erling Haaland in offense and topping the Premier League goalscoring charts so far with yet another hat-trick in the midst of a perfect start for City, we don’t see how it doesn’t win it again.

UCL Contenders Odds: Bayern Munich (+550)

⭐ Bayern Munich (+550) at Caesars

Two seasons on from the departure of the arguably the greatest striker of his generation from Bayern, it has finally filled the goalscoring shoes of Robert Lewandowski with the signing of England captain, Harry Kane.

He has already got off to a flying start at his new club, scoring three Bundesliga goals in three games before another set of fixtures ahead of next week’s Champions League. Bayern do have a tough first game with Manchester United, but it is expected to top its group and be the closest rival to City in 2023/24 because of Kane’s addition.

Madrid is another team expected to fight alongside those two, and after winning the tournament an astonishing 14 teams (seven more than second place), you just know that it is always going to be there or thereabouts.

Add into this the stunning start to life at the club of Jude Bellingham and the most decorated manager in Champions League history, Carlo Ancelotti, we expect Madrid in the last four at least.

Champions League Longshot Bet & Odds: Napoli (+2900)

⭐  Napoli (+2900) at FanDuel

As the champions of Italy, Napoli recorded its best-ever Serie A campaign last season and besides City, it was perhaps the best team in Europe last time out. In fact, Napoli finished 18 points above City's Champions League final opponents, Inter Milan, in Serie A.

Quite incredibly, despite keeping hold of the majority of its star players this summer, Napoli is the eighth favorite to win the tournament. Oddly enough, it is the same odds as last season's runners-up and is even the same odds as Newcastle United, despite the latter’s terrible start to the season and brutal draw in the group.

The Italian champions still have Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the roster in 2023/24, who were easily the best two players in Italy last season.

If Napoli can continue to impress and play like it did last campaign with these two stars leading the offense, Napoli will unquestionably be the longshot bet to look at in these UEFA CL picks.

Champions League Futures Odds & Player Props

Understandably so after winning the top scorer award last season with 12 goals, Erling Haaland tops the Champions League player props at -120 to win the top goal scorer award once more. However, take note of Harry Kane at +400 now he is at Bayern, while Kylian Mbappe of PSG is +450 after scoring 40 goals in 61 Champions League games.

Robert Lewandowski is another name to note, as he scored five in five for Barcelona last season, 13 in 10 with Bayern the year before that and scored the second most goals in the history of a Champions League season with 15 in 10 games back in 2019/20.

Also with BetMGM, odds are at +120 for City to reach the final for the third time in four seasons, while Bayern is +250 to also reach the final.

More Champions League best bets sees Borussia Dortmund at +175 to qualify out of Group F, and although PSG should do so, we expect Dortmund to finish above AC Milan and Newcastle.

More Champions League odds see Lazio at +300 to win its group containing Celtic, Atletico Madrid and Feyenoord, as Lazio finished second in Serie A last year behind Napoli.

Past Champions League Winners, Betting Trends & Interesting UCL Facts

At +750 with Caesars, Real Madrid is the third favorite to grab a record 15th title in the Champions League winner odds. Other Champions League best bets to consider see Arsenal at +1000 to win the competition for the first time after a miraculous rise under Mikel Arteta.

City won the title for the first-ever time last season too, and this marked the first time a brand new winner of the competition occurred since Chelsea in 2012. Oddly enough, all three of these aforementioned teams are English.

Bayern are the second favorites for this title, and its two of its three previous triumphs were separated by 11 years. This season marks the 11th season since it won the competition in 2012/13, but it did also win it in 2019/20 - Bayern is +500 with BetMGM.

In the past 11 seasons since then, there have been three occasions where English teams have won, once with a German team, while the other six have been won by Spanish clubs. In fact, despite its previous decades of dominance, Italy has only had three winners in the past 23 years since the turn of the century.
