Michigan Operators Boost the Festive Spirit With Gift Cards

With the Christmas holidays fast approaching, it's time to think of gift ideas! Operators in the Great Lakes State are getting into the festive spirit this December by offering different types of gift cards. Several Michigan online casinos offer gift cards ranging in value from $10 to $50, available for their casino sections.

As is to be expected, the biggest brands in the state are the ones in the gift-giving mood, with DraftKings, Caesars, and BetMGM providing several gift card options available for purchase in multiple retail stores across the state.

Gift Cards Packaged With A Deposit Bonus

DraftKings offers two types of gift cards valued at $25 or $50 each and requires players to use the scratched-off code to redeem their gifted funds. The biggest brand in the Great Lakes State by revenue numbers and inventory of slots, BetMGM offers $25 or $50 gift cards.

One advantage of BetMGM gift cards is that each includes a $10 deposit bonus. That makes the card a great introduction to Michigan online casino promotions, which are distributed at a higher rate during the holiday season. Some operators tend to restrict their bonus program during this time, which is why simple gift cards can offer an extra boost.

Caesar and FunDuel also offer proprietary prepaid cards, but they have higher minimum limits and take up to 14 days to be delivered via mail. Apart from casino-specific gift cards, players can acquire Game On prepaid cards covering four Michigan operators: FanDuel, BetRivers, DraftKings, and BetMGM. The value of a Game On card can be as high as $400.

Great Concept for Responsible Gambling

Casino gift cards are an excellent method to fund gaming sessions during the holidays, offering security and privacy for first-time players who want to have fun but still stay responsible. Gift cards stimulate responsible gambling during the holiday season by enabling friends or family members to have fun with predetermined amounts to fund wagers without accessing and risking more significant amounts.

Most Michigan operators have a gift card option or reward players via their loyalty programs. However, players need to be careful, considering land-based venues also provide gift cards, and so do some illegal gambling ventures. At the end of October 2023, the Michigan Gaming Control Board reported that authorities seized $182,430 in illegal gift cards. Thus, players should purchase gift cards only at designated stores by issuing online casinos.

Casino gift cards will be available after the holiday season, too, and it will not be a surprise if the concept continues to evolve by borrowing the DraftKings approach of infusing bonuses and gift cards.
