Predictions, Odds, Best Bets & ATS Picks for NFL Week 8

As we enter Week 8, marking two months into the 2023 NFL season, key narratives are starting to emerge

The San Francisco 49ers, after an undefeated streak, have faced two consecutive losses, now trailing in an NFC dominated by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs are at the forefront of a tight race for the top seed with several teams only two losses behind.

All of this makes for some great opportunities for NFL picks against the spread across a host of games this weekend.

Philadelphia Eagles (-7) vs. Washington Commanders (+7)

⭐ Eagles -7 (-108) at BetMGM

Recently, the Eagles have struggled against the Commanders. Washington interrupted their undefeated 2022 streak on Monday Night Football and almost clinched a win in overtime but lost by three points.

Sam Howell's performance has been inconsistent; while the defense hasn't met expectations, the offense has showcased its potential.

The Eagles acquired safety Kevin Byard from the Titans this week and recently celebrated a significant win over the Dolphins.

Jalen Hurts and his team often start strong, and their defense delivered its peak performance this season in the last game.

While the Eagles stand at 4-2-1 against the spread, the Commanders are at 3-4. Philadelphia didn't play like a top seed earlier this season but demonstrated comprehensive excellence last week, gaining momentum.

The Commanders usually improve as the season progresses under Ron Rivera, but it remains to be seen if this trend continues.

⭐ ATS Pick: Eagles -7 (-108) at BetMGM

Cleveland Browns (+3.5) vs. Seattle Seahawks (-3.5)

⭐ Browns +3.5 (-105) at FanDuel

The Browns are grappling with quarterback issues, having only five touchdowns against 11 turnovers. With Deshaun Watson sidelined, PJ Walker steps in.

Despite changes in the lineup, the offense remains fairly consistent. Their defense is commendable, leading in least yards allowed per game and recently securing four turnovers.

The Seahawks are consistent but not overpowering, except in their pass-rush. However, they're up against one of the league's top offensive lines in the Browns.

The game's outcome may hinge on Seattle's red zone performance against a formidable Browns defense.

I'm leaning towards the Browns with a three-point advantage. Their defense, one of the recent best, can compensate for their offensive shortcomings.

⭐ ATS Pick: Browns +3.5 (-105) at FanDuel

Kansas City Chiefs (-7) vs. Denver Broncos (+7)

⭐ Chiefs -7 (-115) at Draftkings

Patrick Mahomes has suffered only one loss against an AFC West rival. It seems unlikely this record will change when facing a struggling Broncos team.

Denver ranks 29th in scoring differential (-9.9), possesses a weak defense, and recently averaged a mere 13.5 points across two games, one of which was against the Chiefs.

Conversely, the Chiefs have evolved from a high-scoring team to boasting one of the most robust defenses in the NFL, allowing just 15 points per game. While they might not replicate their peak offensive display against the Chargers, they still hold the upper hand against Denver.

In their previous encounter, we went with the Broncos +10.5 and fell short by half a point. Although the Chiefs' ATS record isn't stellar in the Mahomes era, they're 5-2 ATS this season, compared to the Broncos' 1-5-1.

I'm going to approach this one with caution, but still lean towards the Chiefs to cover the spread.

⭐ ATS Pick: Chiefs -7 (-115) at Draftkings
