After 18 episodes of this year's “MasterChef," just three contestants remain to battle it out for the $250,000 prize and the title of "America's MasterChef."

Judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Aaron Sanchez will decide who that will be out of Grant, Kennedy and Jennifer in next week's two-part finale on Wednesday night.

Grant Favorite For 'MasterChef' Glory

For now, the three cooks still have plenty to do if they are to avoid the fate of Sav, who got the chop in Episode 17, "Restaurant Takeover - Hell's Kitchen.”

The episode saw the cooks tasked with feeding every guest in the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant at Harrah’s Casino in Funner, California. But Sav served up a scallops dish that Ramsay said he wouldn't even give to his deceased dog.

Wayne and Reagan were eliminated in Episode 18, "Semi-Finals: Pasta & Keeping Up With Gordon,” which saw the Top 5 return to the "MasterChef" kitchen.

For the first challenge they had to cook a stuffed pasta dish, and in the second task they had to replicate Ramsay by cooking the same dish as him, coffee-crusted smoked venison with truffle gnocchi, cauliflower puree and red wine chocolate sauce, and copying his moves.

The first challenge very much played to Grant's strengths after he earned his white apron earlier in the competition with a stuffed pasta dish. He triumphed with his squid ink caramelle with crab and clam effort, which Bastianich described as "very good.”

Grant also won the second and final challenge of the episode, with Ramsay telling him he should be "very proud,” and he has now been victorious in three of the last four challenges ahead of the finale. Following his exploits, Grant has propelled himself to the top of the market in the futures betting as the +100 favorite, from +400 last week.

Kennedy's Eyes On The Prize

But Kennedy isn't far behind at +200 after a mixed couple of episodes.

Kennedy's team triumphed in Episode 17, but she didn't do so well in the stuffed pasta challenge in Episode 18. Bastianich was less than impressed with her sauce, but she survived as Wayne was eliminated.

Kennedy soon made up for that in the second challenge of the episode, and Bastianich was "blown away" by her efforts.

Jennifer is propping up the "MasterChef" market at +500, but it wouldn't be a huge surprise if she won the contest after showing just how good she can be during the first challenge of the semi-finals. Bastianich was impressed with her stuffed pasta, describing it as “perfect," but the second challenge left Jennifer sweating about her finale place.

She had issues with her sauce and was missing her cauliflower puree, but her gnocchi cooking saved her and sealed her spot in next week's double-episode finale, as Reagan went home.

Betting Odds

  • Grant +100
  • Kennedy +200
  • Jennifer +500
