FuboTV is continuing to expand its unique gaming experience with its live TV streaming platform. On Thursday, the company announced Fubo TV will unveil pick’em games on Sunday, making them the first to release popular free-to-play sports contests that are directly integrated into a streaming platform.

Pick’em players in select markets will also have access to the Fubo Sportsbook by scanning a QR code, allowing them to place real-money bets with their picks. This is the latest update to Fubo TV and its owned-and-operated real-money betting platform.

“Our mission is to transform the TV experience through interactive engagement, including free gaming and real-money wagering, into streaming video,” David Gandler, co-founder and CEO of FuboTV said in a media release.

“This industry-first integration has been popular with consumers … We’re already seeing encouraging early signs of the flywheel effect between FuboTV and Fubo Sportsbook. We believe our built-in video audience will allow us to acquire users more efficiently, with a limited amount of marketing spend. We will continue to build our fully unified streaming TV and sportsbook experience with the rollout of more interactive features this year.”

Players Can Compete Against Friends

Pick’em players can predict the outcome of select live sporting events directly from FuboTV’s home screen. Fubo will make the pick’ems available before the start of the live sporting events each Sunday. Players can earn points and compete against their friends and the Fubo TV community to work their way up the leaderboards.

“We believe interactivity is a key product differentiator for Fubo and, with these immersive experiences built into our live streaming product, we can offer the most personalized - and customizable - sports and entertainment television experience,” Mike Berkley, chief product officer of Fubo TV said in a media release.

Pick’ems will go live on Sunday to select Fubo TV subscribers and will roll out to the rest of the company’s users in the coming months. Subscribers can engage with pick’ems across all Fubo Tv connected TVs, smart TVs, gaming consoles and mobile apps.

Fubo plans to expand the types of contests and will also introduce prizing.

Fubo Continues to Expand

In the burgeoning online gaming market, Fubo has attempted to distinguish itself from the rest by integrating its sportsbook and other games directly into its live streaming TV platform. Fubo has continued to expand its offerings, including the new FanView on Apple TV, which allows viewers to watch numerous live sporting events along with game stats and scores from around different leagues.

The Watch/Wager/Win connection between Fubo TV and Fubo Sportsbook allows viewers to place bets live as they watch sporting events. Fubo announced this has led to stronger engagement with crossover users on average placing a larger number of bets and having higher retention rates on the sportsbook compared to sportsbook-only players. Fubo plans to expand its Fubo TV and Fubo Sportsbook offerings list with live odds, subject to regulatory approvals.

“While other media companies are entering into external partnerships with betting companies, FuboTV and Fubo Sportsbook have combined both into one ecosystem,” Scott Butera, president, Fubo Gaming said in a media release. “The launch of pick’ems will further demonstrate FuboTV’s unique product integration and commitment to offering fans real-time immersive experiences across multiple touchpoints.”
