Nebraska Casinos On Pace To Almost Double 2024 Revenue

Nebraska’s casino industry is dealing a winning hand in 2025.
With three months left in the year, casinos across the state are on track to nearly double last year's total gaming revenue.
According to the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission, the state's casinos reported just under $146million in gaming revenue for all of 2024.
By the end of July 2025, that figure was almost matched, with earnings reaching $142m.
If current trends hold, Nebraska’s casinos are on course to close the year with record-breaking numbers.
Strong Growth In Omaha And Lincoln
Lance Morgan, CEO of WarHorse Gaming, claimed the state’s largest properties have seen significant momentum this year.
“We’re thrilled with what’s happened so far, but we think we’ve just scratched the surface,” he said.
“I think as more people experience it and consider it an entertainment option, it’ll continue to grow.”
WarHorse Lincoln, which reported about $59m in 2024, had already earned $46m by July.
Morgan noted that the property’s next phase - expanding its food and beverage offerings - should fuel even greater growth.

Slot machines remain the top revenue driver at Lincoln, followed by table games and sports betting.
With football season underway, Morgan expects betting volumes to rise sharply. Already, about $19m in sports wagers had been placed at the Lincoln casino by August.
WarHorse Omaha is showing even faster growth. Opened in August 2024, the casino brought in around $33m during its debut year.
By July 2025, it had already generated $51m, making this its first full calendar year of operations and an early success story for Nebraska gaming.

Other Casinos Closing In On Records
The momentum extends beyond WarHorse properties.
Harrah’s Columbus Racing and Casino reported nearly $18m in 2024 and was just $3m shy of surpassing that total as of midsummer.
The Grand Island Casino and Resort has also had a strong showing, reporting $30m in revenue through July compared to $35m for all of 2024.
The state’s latest venue, a casino in Ogallala, opened its doors in August.
Although revenue figures are not yet available, the opening is another enhancement to an already growing gaming industry in Nebraska.
Economic Impact Rising
Beyond player excitement, Nebraska’s gaming boom has significant implications for state coffers.
Casino revenue in 2025 has already translated to about $28m in tax contributions, according to commission data.
That figure is nearly equal to the $29m total collected in all of 2024, another milestone likely to be surpassed before year’s end.
Looking Ahead
Experts in the industry feel the growth curve is just beginning.
With new amenities, upgraded dining and entertainment choices, and seasonal upticks in sports betting, casinos in Nebraska look likely to finish 2025 with record totals.
As Morgan put it, “We’re just getting started.”
