Pennsylvania Online Casino Revenue Continues Upward Trend

More good news on the PA online casino front, with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reporting a year-to-year increase of 22.84% in taxable revenue for November. 

Total taxable casino-type gaming revenue for last month was just over $158 million, up from $128.6 million in November 2022. The revenue number in October was $154.8 million.

The Gaming Control Board’s breakdown of casino games offered online includes PA online slots, tables, and poker – slots did $109.3 million, tables did $46.4 million, and poker did $2.2 million. 

The Gaming Control Board reports that tax revenue generated from internet gaming play in November was $66.8 million.

Hollywood Casino Leads the Charge

Total iGaming revenue at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse was just over $61.1 million, a 9.81% year-over-year increase. Valley Forge Casino Resort was next at just over $41.1 million, a 55.30% increase from November 2022. Rivers Casino Philadelphia came in at $27.7 million, a .73% increase.

There are currently 21 licensed online casino operators in Pennsylvania, when you count WSOP, which offers only poker. That will go down to 20 when Unibet leaves the market in 2024. There are three others that are in some stage of moving forward, including Fanatics, which will replace PointsBet.

Decrease In Total Revenue

Total revenue from all forms of gaming, along with fantasy numbers was just over $444.47 million, a decrease of 1.74% compared to November 2022. Hollywood Casino Morgantown had the largest decrease, at 25%.

Sports wagering handle for the month was $934.1 million, an 18.36% year-over-year increase.
