The Masked Singer 2023: Fairy Remains A Mystery

The fifth episode of the latest series of The Masked Singer saw two new characters go up against Squirrel.
Wednesday's episode was Sesame Street Night and featured a performance from the show's characters Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, The Count, Elmo, and Big Bird, but three other masked characters captured most of the attention.
Last week, Squirrel progressed and became the favorite to win the competition. But, she was the first character eliminated from the fifth episode and turned out to be actress and model Malin Akerman.
The star had been the +200 favorite to be the character, and judge Jenny McCarthy correctly guessed Akerman was behind the mask.
That left Jackalope to take on Fairy in the Battle Royale in this week's episode, but the former lost out.
She was unmasked as YouTube sensation Lele Pons, who judges Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke guessed right, but the identity of Fairy remains a mystery.
Thanks to these hypothetical odds provided by industry sports betting experts, we've looked at which celebrity might be unveiled as Fairy.
Holly Robinson Peete Heads The Market
Singer and actress Holly Robinson Peete has been installed as the hot +200 favorite to be Fairy, with a 33.3% implied likelihood, after an episode of clues.
In her package, Peete pointed out that making her debut on The Masked Singer on Sesame Street Night felt "right at home" because she "grew up in these streets."
Eagle-eyed viewers were quick to spot that her dad, Matt Robinson, was the original Gordon on Sesame Street, and she also starred as Sally in the show.
Photos of Sean Penn, Rob Lowe and Emilio Estevez were part of her visual clues, and Peete went to school with the stars.
A cop badge also appeared, which could point to Peete starring as Judy Hoffs in the 1980s TV series 21 Jump Street, and the basketball clue looks to relate to another show she was on, the sitcom Hangin' with Mr. Cooper.
If that wasn't enough, fans were convinced when a black panther was part of her visual clues, because the star's husband, Rodney Peete, previously played quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.
Ally Sheedy In Contention
But if Peete isn't under the Fairy mask, then the mystery star could be actress Ally Sheedy.
She is +300, with a 25% implied likelihood of being the character.
It is thought the feather duster clue could be a reference to Sheedy starring in the 1987 movie Maid to Order.
The Breakfast Club star was also part of the Brat Pack - a name given to a group of young actors who often appeared in coming-of-age movies together in the 1980s - that included Lowe and Estevez.
But Zoe Kravitz could also be in contention. The star is +500 after Fairy mentioned she "chose a more divergent path" in life.
Kravitz - the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet - previously starred in the 2014 movie Divergent.
Brooke Shields (+600) has also been mentioned as a potential Fairy.
The judges had different opinions on who might be Fairy, with Thicke guessing Parks and Recreation star Rashida Jones (+1200), while McCarthy predicted Tracee Ellis Ross (+1400) and Jeong went for Angelina Jolie (+1600).
Fairy Second Favorite
After progressing through to the next round, Fairy is now second favorite to win the competition, at +400.
Episode three winner California Roll - who appears most likely to be a cappella group Pentatonix - has now emerged as the +250 favorite to win season nine.
Medusa (+500) and Gargoyle (+650), who will face off against each other and one other as-yet-unnamed character in a special redemption episode later in the season, both still have chances of winning the show.
