Caesars and Cherokee Indians Strengthen Partnership to launch Online Sports Betting in NC

North Carolina is gearing up to introduce mobile sports betting across the state on March 11, and guess what? One of the top names in the betting world is ready to join the action!

Just this Tuesday, Caesars shared some exciting news. They're expanding their partnership with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, and this time it's all about mobile sports betting with Caesars Sportsbook NC. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians had already put in for a license from the North Carolina Lottery Commission to make this happen.

And here's a fun fact: Both of the Cherokee casinos in western North Carolina are managed by Harrah's, which is part of the Caesars' family. So, things are about to get even more thrilling in North Carolina's betting scene!

“We are excited for this new venture with Caesars Entertainment and the enhancements it provides to our Tribal enterprise,” said Michell Hicks, principal chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, in a statement. “We look forward to the continued opportunities that will benefit the future of our membership.”

Other Sportsbooks We Might See Launching in North Carolina

The Cherokee and Catawba tribes, both officially recognized, are in the process of applying for their operator licenses. To secure these licenses, operators must have agreements with teams, venues, or sports governing bodies within the NC borders.

Exciting news from Caesars - they plan to launch their mobile sports betting service on March 11, when mobile sports betting kicks off in North Carolina. They're getting ready to let customers set up and put money into their accounts soon.

Here's something special about Caesars NC: they will be the only ones offering mobile sports betting at their two casinos and on the land of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, located in the far west of North Carolina.

March 11 is looking to be a big day! Up to nine operators might start their services, including bet365, Fanatics Sportsbook, Bet ESPN, Underdog Sports, BetMGM, FanDuel, DraftKings, and Caesars. The Catawba tribe is still deciding on a partner for their license.

Operators seeking approval

If a new operator is looking to get into the NC sports betting game, they'll need to team up with a sports team, league, or venue. It's a great way to become a part of the sports community in North Carolina.

DraftKings has teamed up with Nascar, securing an exclusive role as the daily fantasy sports partner for the renowned stock car racing organization. Similarly, BetMGM kicked off the year with a significant agreement, gaining market access through a deal with Charlotte Motor Speedway, a prominent NASCAR venue in Concord.

Additionally, Fanatics has forged a partnership with the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, enhancing the sports landscape. Similarly, the fantasy sports app Underdog is joining forces with McConnell Golf, supporting their efforts to obtain a license.

Rounding off these thrilling developments, ESPN BET has struck a deal to become the official betting operator for the Quail Hollow Golf Club. This agreement includes ESPN BET NC becoming the official betting operator for the Wells Fargo Championship in North Carolina, adding an extra dimension to the prestigious golf event.

A thrilling debut that coincides with the 2024 March Madness is coming up soon! To enhance the excitement, incredible North Carolina sportsbook promos will be available for new users in the State. Furthermore, everyone's experience will be even more exciting because of how convenient online betting is!
