New York Sports Betting Shatters Record for Handle with $1.6 Billion in January

New York sportsbooks continued to post impressive numbers from Jan. 24-30. In total, the state recorded a mobile handle of $449.3 million during that span with $21.6 million in gross gaming revenue and $11 million in taxes.

Added to the earlier figures New York reported for its sports betting numbers, the state shattered the record for handle in a month.

How New York Sportsbooks Fared Jan. 24-30

FanDuel New York tallied the highest handle at $141.8 million but had a negative gross gaming revenue of -$564,868.

Caesars Sportsbook had the second-highest handle at $128.1 million and posted $14.1 million in revenue and $7.2 million in taxes.

DraftKings New York Sportsbook reported a handle of $102.2 million, $5.3 million in revenue and $2.7 million in taxes.

BetMGM was fourth in handle at $37.5 million and had $710,277 in revenue and $362,241 in taxes.

PointsBet Sportsbook New York went live on Jan. 25 and had the fifth-highest handle at $29.5 million. The Australian-based company also had $2.3 million in revenue and $1.2 million in taxes.

BetRivers continued to have the lowest handle at $10.2 million and had negative revenue of -$394,458.

New York’s Cumulative Sports Betting Totals

Since online sports betting in New York went live, bettors have wagered $1,624,919,978 via mobile.

Mobile sports betting has also produced $113 million in revenue and $57.6 million in taxes.

Caesars Sportsbook New York has the largest overall handle at $615.5 million and has $55.9 million in revenue and $28.5 million in taxes.

FanDuel is second in handle at $501.8 million and has $23.6 million in revenue and $12 million in taxes.

DraftKings has the third-largest handle in New York at $367.7 million and has produced $27.1 million in revenue and $13.8 million in taxes.

BetMGM New York launched on Jan. 17 and has a total handle of $78.1 million since going live. The popular sportsbook brand also has $3.2 million in revenue and $1.6 million.

Along with Caesars, FanDuel and DraftKings, BetRivers was the fourth sportsbook to begin taking bets once New York’s online sports betting market opened on Jan. 8. Since then, BetRivers has a total handle of $32.4 million to go with $837,035 in revenue and $426,888 in taxes.

PointsBet’s cumulative handle, revenue and tax figures are the same since the sportsbook launched the week of Jan. 24-30.

WynnBET Launches in New York

WynnBET became the seventh sportsbook to go live in New York on Friday. New Yorkers can now download the WynnBET app on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Bettors have access to Wynn Rewards, which gives them numerous real-life experiences and benefits that can be utilized at Wynn Resorts’ properties. Wynn Rewards members can also connect their accounts to WynnBET after completing registration.

WynnBET is giving new customers a bonus for signing up for its sportsbook. Once players register and deposit, they qualify for a bet $10, win $200 promotion.

To redeem the offer, players must deposit and wager at least $10. Once the bet is graded, players receive $200 in free bets whether the bet is a winner or a loser.
