New York Sportsbooks Generate More than $600 Million in Eight Days

In just over a week, the first four sportsbooks to go live in New York generated a handle of $603,053,836, according to the New York State Gaming Commission.

Total gross gaming revenue from the four was $48,224,783. Mobile sports betting in New York gross gaming revenue is taxed at 51%, resulting in $24,594,693 in taxes for the state.

Caesars New York Leads the Way

Caesars New York had the highest mobile handle at $257.7 million, including $67.4 million on opening weekend and $180.2 million from Jan. 10-16.

Gross gaming revenue from Caesars was $22.7 million with $8.6 million on opening weekend and $14.1 million from Jan. 10-16.

The brand is also leading in other markets, one of the examples being Caeasars Sportsbook Louisiana.

FanDuel Sportsbook New York had the second-highest mobile handle at $200.4 million with $63.2 million bet on opening weekend and $137.1 million from Jan. 10-16.

Gross gaming revenue from FanDuel was $14.1 million, with –$2.7 million on opening weekend and $16.9 million from Jan. 10-16.

DraftKings New York Sportsbook produced $134.4 million in handle with $38.5 million coming on opening weekend and $95.9 million from Jan. 10-16.

DraftKings recorded $10.9 million in gross gaming revenue with $7 million on opening weekend and $3.9 million from Jan. 10-16.

BetRivers Sportsbook New York didn’t come near the figures as the other well-known sportsbooks, taking in just $10.6 million in bets with $2.1 million on the opening weekend and $8.5 million from Jan. 10-16.

Gross gaming revenue from BetRivers was $446,696 with $512,129 on opening weekend and -$70,433 from Jan. 10-16.

BetMGM New York was not included in the New York State Gaming Commission’s report since it launched on Jan. 17.

Bally Bet, WynnBet, Resorts World and PointsBet are still yet to launch in New York as they work towards meeting the New York State Gaming Commission’s statutory and regulatory requirements.
