LuckyStake Sweepstakes Casino Shuts Down, Sets August 20 Redemption Deadline

The shutdown comes just months after the company absorbed players from SweepNext, joining a growing wave of sweepstakes casino closures.

LuckyStake Sweepstakes Casino Shuts Down, Sets August 20 Redemption Deadline

LuckyStake is shutting down, becoming the latest name on a growing list of sweepstakes casinos to exit the US market. The operator told players in emails sent in early August 2026 that gameplay and Gold Coin purchases would end on August 14, while requests to redeem eligible Sweeps Coins must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on August 20.

The closure is notable because LuckyStake only recently became a landing spot for players leaving another shuttered platform. When SweepNext wound down operations earlier this year, its player accounts and balances were migrated over to LuckyStake, an operator run by a separate company. Less than three months later, that platform is closing as well, leaving some players facing a second casino shutdown in less than a year.

Key Dates for LuckyStake Players

LuckyStake has laid out a firm timeline for winding down. Gameplay and Gold Coin bundle purchases stop on August 14, the same date that closes out the site's Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE) program, so mail-in entries received after that point will no longer count. Sweeps Coin redemption requests must be submitted by August 20 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.

The operator says any redemption request submitted on time, including those already pending, will continue through review after the platform and player accounts close. Players may still be contacted for identity verification during that process, and account closure will not cancel a request filed before the deadline.

A Second Closure for Former SweepNext Players

LuckyStake's exit is a sharper turn than most sweepstakes casino closures because it recently absorbed another operator's customers. SweepNext launched in May 2025 and announced its own shutdown in June 2026, encouraging its players to move their accounts and balances to LuckyStake. The two brands operated under separate companies, but the migration pointed to some level of cooperation between them.

That made LuckyStake's own closure announcement, coming only a few months after it took on SweepNext's user base, a surprise to some players and industry observers.

There had been an earlier signal, though: LuckyStake scaled back its marketing activity in March 2026, a move some now point to as an early warning that its growth plans were already narrowing.

Part of a Wider Sweepstakes Casino Shake-Out

LuckyStake joins a lengthening list of sweepstakes casinos that have shut down or scaled back over the past year, including brands such as SweepNext, LuckyStars, Turbo Stakes Casino, Gold Treasure Casino, Betty Sweeps, Mega Frenzy, Vegas Coins, Kickr, GummyPlay, and Starlight Casino. The pattern points to consolidation in a sector that has drawn increasing legislative attention.

Several states have moved to restrict or ban the dual-currency sweepstakes model outright, including through Louisiana's sweepstakes casino ban, and lawmakers in other states have introduced bills aimed at tightening enforcement against operators. Smaller brands without an established player base tend to feel that pressure first, since new-market access is central to how they grow, and once that access narrows, profitability becomes harder to sustain.

Anyone unclear on how the model works, or whether it is permitted where they live, can read up on whether sweepstakes casinos are legal in your state and the difference between social and sweepstakes casinos.

What LuckyStake Players Should Do Next

Players with an active LuckyStake account should confirm that any pending account verification is complete and submit redemption requests well before the August 20 cutoff, since requests filed after that deadline will not be honored.

Those looking to keep playing at other sweepstakes casinos have plenty of established alternatives to choose from once LuckyStake's platform goes dark.
