‘Card Counter’ Hasn’t Filed Formal Casino Complaint, Arkansas Official Says

Arkansas officials have not heard from a self-described “card counter” who was seen on a video last week asserting he was initially cheated out of money at a casino in Hot Springs, a state official says.

Identifying himself as a professional card counter, a man known on social media sites as Brutal Chameleon said last week that the casino, Oaklawn, finally paid what he was owed from table-game winnings after he contacted his lawyer and “gaming.” The casino at first declined to pay his full winnings, according to a separate video first posted on the Casinocompwallet Instagram page.

By Monday, May 12, however, the Arkansas Racing Commission had not received a complaint  from the man, according to Scott Hardin, commission spokesman.

"We reviewed all recent correspondence regarding Oaklawn and confirmed we have not received any feedback or complaints," Hardin told Gambling.com. "Racing Commission staff also confirmed they have not been contacted."

Last week, Hardin told Gambling.com state officials would investigate if they received a complaint. The commission oversees all legal gambling in Arkansas, including horse racing, casino gaming and sports betting.

By Monday, Oaklawn had not returned a phone call from Gambling.com last week seeking comment.
