James Harden is likely on the move again. On Thursday, the 10-time All-Star opted into his $36.5 million option for the 2023-24 NBA season, setting up a way for the Philadelphia 76ers to seek a trade package for Harden.
According to ESPN, the 76ers have already started making trades to seek out interest for Harden once it became clear he would opt in instead of going into free agency.
The pending trade takes the 76ers out of the favorites for the title on the top NBA betting sites next season.
Harden On the Move Again
If Harden is traded, it will be to his third team since leaving the Houston Rockets in 2021. It was reported he was interested in returning to Houston, but the Rockets have been targeting Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet in the offseason.
Harden is looking to go to a contender and is coming off a solid season, averaging 21 points while leading the league with 10.7 assists per game.
