Slots With the Highest RTP Reviewed by Gambling.com

1. Mega Joker

Mega Joker pairs a classic fruit-machine layout with three reels, five fixed paylines and familiar fruit, bell and lucky-seven symbols. Base-game wins feed the Supermeter balance, which you can use to play a second set of reels above the main game.

The Supermeter is the game’s main feature, letting you stake accumulated winnings on the upper reels at different coin levels. This gives Mega Joker a different feel from slots built around free spins or picking bonuses, while keeping its retro design straightforward.

NetEnt publishes an RTP of up to 99% under specific Supermeter conditions, rather than for ordinary base-game spins.

2. Golden Chief

Golden Chief brings together expanding wilds and several bonus features across five reels. Chief symbols can expand to cover a reel and open additional paylines, while the bonus wheel can award free spins or send you into the Totem Riches and Cash Canyon rounds.

Those features give the game variety: Totem Riches offers multiplier prizes, while Cash Canyon awards instant wins. Big Bet mode adds further changes, with options that enhance wilds, improve bonus features or unlock up to 100 paylines.

The published RTP reaches 98.14% in Big Bet mode, with lower returns in standard play.

3. Blood Suckers

Blood Suckers takes its vampire theme across five reels and 25 paylines, with free spins and a coffin-picking bonus alongside the main game. Wild symbols help complete winning combinations, while three or more scatters award ten free spins with tripled wins.

The Vampire Slaying bonus sends you into a room of coffins to uncover prizes. Finding a vampire adds coins to your total, but revealing bats ends the round. It’s a straightforward feature that gives the game character without complicated rules.

NetEnt publishes a 98% RTP, although lower settings exist. Blood Suckers also has low volatility, making it one of the less volatile games in our selection.

4. Codex of Fortune

Codex of Fortune builds its gameplay around a seven-level Fortune Wins ladder, played across five reels, four rows and 40 paylines. Collecting winning symbols during respins moves you up the ladder, while keys unlock and increase the prizes.

The keys connect the respin and free-spin rounds, giving you a choice at certain points between taking an additional payout or keeping a key for free spins. That shared progress gives the bonus features more depth than a standalone free-spin round.

With a published RTP of 98% and high volatility, Codex of Fortune offers a more involved alternative to simpler games in our selection, such as Blood Suckers.

5. Starmania

Starmania keeps things simple with colorful stars and ten paylines that pay in both directions. NextGen Gaming’s five-reel slot uses a small set of symbols against a starry background, making the action easy to follow.

The free-spin round adds wilds to the middle three reels, helping complete winning combinations. With fewer features to keep track of than Codex of Fortune, Starmania is a straightforward option for players who prefer a simpler game.

FanDuel’s guide lists a 97.87% RTP and low-to-medium volatility, placing Starmania among the less volatile picks in our selection.

6. Soldier of Rome

Soldier of Rome brings its Roman theme to life with Mighty Reels that expand from five to ten rows, opening up to 100 paylines. Matching symbols in the separate Money Burst area trigger Lightning Spins, adding more symbols to the main reels.

Like Golden Chief, Big Bet mode changes more than the stake. Its options alter the wilds, symbol mix and reel height, with each round offering five linked spins and accumulated winnings. The expanding layout gives players more to follow than simpler slots such as Starmania.

The published RTP reaches 97.82% in Big Bet mode, with lower returns in standard play.

7. White Rabbit Megaways

White Rabbit brings Big Time Gaming’s Megaways format to an Alice in Wonderland theme. Its standout feature comes during free spins, when cupcake symbols expand the reels to as many as 12 symbols each, creating up to 248,832 ways to win.

While Soldier of Rome expands its layout to add paylines, White Rabbit increases the ways to win as its reels grow. For more games built on this format, see our Megaways slots guide.

BetMGM lists a 97.24% RTP and medium volatility, although the published return can vary by jurisdiction.

8. Desert Treasure

Desert Treasure takes you on a desert adventure across five reels and 20 paylines, with wild symbols helping complete winning combinations. Three scatters trigger ten free spins with tripled wins, while bonus symbols open the separate Oasis picking round.

Like Blood Suckers, Desert Treasure combines tripled free-spin wins with a picking bonus. The Oasis round lets you uncover hidden prizes, adding variety to the straightforward main game.

Available at Hard Rock Bet, Desert Treasure has a published RTP of 97.05% and medium volatility.

9. Gorilla Go Wilder

Gorilla Go Wilder follows Gary the gorilla through a five-reel, 25-payline game built around Shell Re-Spins and eight unlockable Bonus Islands. During Shell Re-Spins, each new shell adds a prize and another respin. The round continues until no new shells land or all 15 positions are filled.

Three or more scatters trigger Bonus Islands, with more destinations unlocked as you trigger the feature again. Each island brings a different free-spin feature, from wandering wilds and mystery symbols to multiplier zones, giving the bonus rounds plenty of variety.

The published RTP ranges from 93.05% to 97.04%, with 97.04% representing the upper end rather than a fixed return.

10. Guns N' Roses

Guns N’ Roses brings the band’s hits to a five-reel, 20-payline slot with a stadium backdrop. Random features keep the main game varied: Legend Spins add stacked wilds, while the Solo Multiplier boosts wins by between 4x and 10x.

Three bonus symbols on reels one, three and five trigger the Bonus Wheel. It can award a coin prize, ten Encore Free Spins with a band member appearing as a stacked wild, or the three-level Crowd-Pleaser picking bonus.

With a published RTP of 96.98% and medium volatility, Guns N’ Roses combines a familiar soundtrack with a varied mix of wilds, multipliers and bonus rounds.

How Gambling.com Selects High-RTP Slots

We compare provider information with details published by regulated US casinos to select the games in this guide. We focus on three areas:

  • RTP and play conditions: Published returns, different settings and any modes needed to reach the headline figure.
  • US availability: Where each game is offered, taking account of differences between state game libraries.
  • Game features: Reel layouts, bonus rounds and volatility to help readers compare how the games play.

We rank the games by their highest published RTP, highlighting where that figure depends on a specific mode or condition.

What Is RTP in Slots?

RTP stands for Return to Player. It describes the percentage of money wagered that a game is designed to return as winnings over a very large number of plays.

For example, a slot with 96% RTP is designed to return $96 for every $100 wagered over the long term. The remaining 4% is the house edge. This doesn’t mean you’ll finish a $100 session with $96 — your results can vary widely.

RTP applies to the total amount wagered, including any winnings you play again, rather than just your initial deposit.

What Is a Good RTP for Slots?

An RTP of 96% or above is a useful starting point when comparing online slots. Our picks have headline figures from 96.98% to 99%, with some of the highest returns tied to specific play modes.

A higher RTP means a lower house edge, as the table below shows:

RTPHouse Edge
94%6%
96%4%
98%2%
99%1%

Moving from 96% to 98% RTP halves the house edge, from 4% to 2%. That gives the game better long-term odds, but doesn’t mean you’ll lose half as much in a session or win more often.

RTP, Volatility and Maximum Wins Explained

RTP is one part of the picture when comparing slots. Volatility, hit frequency and prize limits help explain how a game plays and what it can pay.

MeasureWhat It Tells You
RTPThe percentage of wagers a game is designed to return over the long term. Higher RTP means a lower house edge.
VolatilityHow much wins can vary in size and how unevenly they are spread across play.
Hit frequencyHow often a spin pays anything, including wins worth less than your stake.
Maximum winThe game’s highest possible payout, usually shown as a multiple of your bet—not how likely you are to win it.
Progressive jackpotA prize that grows until someone wins it. Its size alone doesn’t tell you the game’s RTP.

Two slots with similar RTPs can play very differently. One may return more through frequent small wins, while another pays more through occasional bonus rounds. High RTP doesn’t necessarily mean low volatility.

A “high-paying slot” could mean a game with a high RTP, a large maximum win or a progressive jackpot. We rank our picks by published RTP. For games with growing jackpot prizes, explore our jackpot slots guide.

How to Find a Slot’s RTP

Start with your casino’s game search or filters. For example, bet365’s Pennsylvania site has a Return (RTP) filter alongside provider and volatility options. You can also find a game’s RTP by opening its rules:

  1. Find the game in your casino’s lobby, checking the exact title and version.
  2. Open the information or help menu, usually marked with an “i” or question mark.
  3. Look for “RTP,” “return to player” or “theoretical return.”
  4. Check any conditions, such as whether the figure applies only to a particular mode or bet level.
  5. Ask customer support if the RTP isn’t listed.

DraftKings says most of its casino games display RTP in their rules. Use the figure shown for the version you’re playing, as the same slot can have different settings at different casinos.

Why RTP Can Differ Between Casinos

The same slot can have different RTP settings. Providers may offer several versions, so a game’s published return won’t always match the figure at every casino.

Blood Suckers is one example: NetEnt publishes 98% RTP, while PlayStar’s US game page lists 96.01%. Both figures refer to Blood Suckers, but they apply to different settings.

Sequels, jackpot editions and optional modes can also have different returns. Golden Chief and Soldier of Rome, for example, reach their highest published RTPs in Big Bet mode. Simply raising your stake doesn’t automatically improve RTP—the game must have a specific rule linking the two.

High-RTP Slots and Casino Bonuses

Not every high-RTP slot counts fully toward bonus wagering requirements. Some games contribute at a reduced rate, while others are excluded altogether.

For example, DraftKings lists Mega Joker and Starmania as contributing 20% toward its Casino Deposit Bonus play-through requirements. A $10 wager would count as $2 toward clearing the bonus. That percentage describes the bonus contribution, not the game’s RTP.

Borgata excludes Codex of Fortune from wagering credit under its listed deposit-match welcome offer. A game can therefore have a high RTP without helping you clear a bonus.

Before claiming an offer, check its eligible games, wagering contribution, maximum permitted bet and expiry date.

Can You Play High-RTP Slots for Free?

Yes, you can play high-RTP slots for free in demo mode, using virtual credits instead of real money. For example, you can try the Blood Suckers demo on Gambling.com after creating a free account.

Demo play helps you explore the controls, paytable and bonus features. Settings may differ from the version at your chosen casino, and demo results don’t predict real-money outcomes.

If you play for real money, set a spending limit you can afford, take breaks and never chase losses.
