Missouri Bettors Can Sign Up In November, New List Of Sports Betting Applicants Released

With a week to go before applications are due, the Missouri Gaming Commission has released a list of sports betting operators and suppliers that have applied to operate in the state when wagering becomes legal on Dec. 1.
Also, beginning on Nov. 17 authorized mobile sports betting companies can let bettors set up online accounts and deposit funds into their accounts, according to the Missouri Gaming Commission.
If those companies have their temporary licenses, they can begin live wagering at 12 a.m. on Dec. 1, the commission said.
Once regulated sports betting is underway in Missouri, it will become the 39th state with legal wagering. Currently, every state bordering Missouri, except Oklahoma, already allows legal sports betting. Bettors who are at least 21 years old will be able to bet in person at brick-and-mortar sportsbooks or online anywhere in Missouri with the use of a cellphone or computer.
In August, the commission granted two companies—DraftKings and Circa—the right to offer untethered apps to sports bettors when wagering is legal. With that approval, DraftKings and Circa won’t have to partner with a brick-and-mortar casino or a professional sports team in making their apps available. Other sports betting companies are required to partner with a casino or sports team. Formal applications are due Sept. 12.
