Who Will Win American Idol Season 22? Top 24 Revealed

The latest installment of "American Idol" came courtesy of a double-header on Sunday and Monday night, as the contestants were culled from Hollywood Week into a Top 24.

Judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry previously put 143 wannabes into Hollywood Week, and those contestants were whittled to 56 wannabes in Sunday night's episode.

More than 80 acts departed, which was "American Idol's" biggest ever cull in the show's 22-season history.

On Monday night's episode, the 56 contestants were then reduced to 24 in the Showstopper Round.

The Top 24 will now head to Disney's Aulani Resort in Hawaii for a two-parter on Sunday and Monday night, when four contestants will exit the season, which will leave a Top 20.

Platinum Ticket Holders Sail Through To Top 24

Platinum Ticket holders Julia Gagnon, Odell Bunton Jr., and Abi Carter all sailed through to the Top 24 on Monday.

Gagnon performed a rendition of Jennifer Holliday's "And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going", but one place she certainly is going is into the Top 24 - and as the +100 favorite.

Carter was suffering from bronchitis during the Showstopper Round, but she did enough with her rendition of Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time".

She performed a stripped back version of the song, which included her playing a guitar, but Perry wasn't a fan of the wannabe using the instrument.

The judge then teased Carter that she could be heading home, by saying: "I think the dream ends here..." But she then said: "Because it just became a reality. The reality is you are in our Top 24."

Carter remains +150 second favorite for "American Idol" victory, narrowly ahead of fellow Platinum Ticket holder Bunton Jr.

The +200 chance eased into the Top 24 with a rendition of Nina Simone's "Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood", after which Bryan described him as "silk".

Fellow wannabe Quintavious also remains +200 after progressing, as did +250 pair Hailey Mia and Jayna Elise.

Harper's 'Time To Have Fun'

Jordan Anthony and Elleigh Marie remain +350 and +400 respectively to win this year's "American Idol", but Triston Harper's price has nearly halved in the futures betting.

The 15 year old is into +500, from +900, after he was praised as "so authentic" by Perry following the Showstopper Round.

Pop star Perry told him: "It’s time to play. It’s time to have fun. It’s time to receive what you have deserved."

Harper is level in price with McKenna Breinholt, and there is a quartet at +600.

Mackenzie Sol, Emmy Russell, Will Moseley, and Nya - who Perry said she was "just too good" following her Showstopper - are all in the midfield of the market, while KBlocks also made a big impression.

Panelist Richie said +700 chance KBlocks made the judges "pay attention" to her, while Blake Proehl has joined her at +700.

Proehl was a +300 shot to win the series going into Hollywood Week, but following his Showstopper Perry said he was "not believing in his voice".

Despite this, he went through anyway, as did KB (+700), and +800 pair Jennifer Jeffries and Ajii.

'Powerful' Matthews Advances

Roman Collins (+900) also received some constructive criticism following his Showstopper.

Bryan advised him to "edit back" in his future performances, but his version of "Come Together" by The Beatles went down well overall.

What's more, Mia Matthews' "really powerful" performance saw her advance to the Top 24, and she is +1000 to triumph, alongside Kennedy Reid and Sam "Kayko" Kelly-Cohen.

Jack Blocker only just made it through to Hollywood, but he's now a Top 24 contestant after progressing with his version of "You Should’ve Seen the Other Guy" by Nathaniel Rateliff.

He is now propping up the market at +1200 heading into the Top 24 episodes on Sunday and Monday night.
