Leading up to the slate today, we could see even more trades happen before the August 1 deadline, adding to the flurry we’ve seen already, which has been headlined by Max Scherzer.

Across the best online betting sites like DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars, we’ve put together some MLB free picks we think you should consider.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Washington Nationals Prediction & Odds, Time (7:05 PM ET)

Kicking off our best MLB bets today, the Nationals are hosting the Brewers, two teams headed in opposite directions.

At the time of this Nationals vs. Brewers prediction, The Nationals are 18 games under .500 at 44-62, while the Brewers are fighting with the Cincinnati Reds for first place in the NL Central.

The Brewers have Corbin Burnes on the mound, a righty with an ERA of 3.46 who’s allowed just six runs over the last five games. Unfortunately, the Brewers offense has been stagnant this season, averaging just 4.16 runs per game, which ranks 24th in the league. They’ve averaged six runs per game over the last three.

Interestingly, the Nationals average 4.30 runs per game, but their pitcher, Jake Irvin, in his first season in the big leagues, is just 3-5 with a 4.96 ERA. He’s allowed multiple runs in his last five starts, totaling 16.

Despite the Brewers tendency to score few runs, they should be able to make consistent contact against Irvin while Burnes fends off their offense.

Best Betting PickBrewers -1.5 runs (-120) at DraftKings Sportsbook

San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies Prediction & Odds, Time (8:40 PM ET)

Our Padres vs. Rockies prediction is geared toward the underdog, making this a great value at +172 on the moneyline for the Rockies.

Playing at Coors Field with two teams that are familiar with one another will likely result in a lot of offensive production, and we’re banking on the Rockies coming out on the other side of that.

The Rockies are starting Austin Gomber, who’s 8-8 on the season with a massive ERA of 5.83. However, over his last five starts, he’s allowed two runs or less four times. Meanwhile, Seth Lugo, the Padres starter, has allowed nine runs over his previous three games, including five against the Philadelphia Phillies on July 16.

While Lugo has been solid all season long, the Rockies lineup should still be able to do enough to hang here. At +172 odds for Rockies to win on moneyline, this presents excellent value for our best MLB bets today.

We’re banking on a lot of offense with the Rockies hanging on.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Atlanta Braves Prediction & Odds, Time (7:20 PM ET)

At the time of the Angels vs. Braves prediction, Ohtani staying with the Angels is even more certain, so the Braves still need to contend with him and Mike Trout.

However, as we know, the Angels cannot get anything going despite having two of the best players in baseball. They average nearly five runs per game (fifth in the league), but they always float around .500, which they are now at 55-51 and give games out of first in the AL West.

The Braves are starting Charlie Morton, who’s coming off some rough outings and has only managed one game with more than five strikeouts over these last five starts.

Angels starter Griffin Canning hasn’t been stellar by any means, but he has 20 strikeouts over his last two starts, and he’s allowed two runs in each.

Both offenses are top-five in the league, and the pitching matchup might be closer than we think.

Of our best MLB bets today, this is a sneaky run line selection, but we’re leaning Angels.

Best Betting PickAngels +1.5 runs (-105) at Caesars Sportsbook
