Online sports betting is legal New York, as of Saturday morning. New York sports bettors will finally have access to regulated, licensed online sportsbooks, marking the start of a new era for betting in the state.
With Saturday's launch of online sports betting in New York, many top U.S. sportsbooks will be live, including FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesars and BetRivers.

Who is BetMGM?
Officially launched in 2018, when MGM Resorts International signed a deal with Entain Holdings, BetMGM has been one of the leading sportsbooks in the United States. Where is BetMGM Available?
Online sports betting is legal in the New York as of Jan. 8, but the BetMGM New York Sportsbook App will not be available on that date. Until then, only sports bettors in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia and Wyoming can legally play at BetMGM.

When will BetMGM be Available in New York?
BetMGM is expected to launch very soon, but it will not be available in New York on Jan. 8, when online sports betting becomes legal in the state. According to its Twitter account, BetMGM is working closely with the New York State Gaming Commission and the aim is to go live as soon as possible. Exactly what "as soon as possible" means is open to interpretation, but New York bettors shouldn’t have to wait too long.
Opening up to the New York market is a big priority for BetMGM, so expect to see them live in the state within a couple of weeks. As with everything though, nothing is 100% certain.
