MGM Grand Detroit Appoints Ryan Bufalini VP Of Marketing
MGM Grand Detroit named Ryan Bufalini as its new vice president of marketing this week, adding a gaming and hospitality executive with more than 25 years in the industry to lead the property's marketing organization.

Who Is Bufalini?
Bufalini began his gaming career in Detroit in 2000 and has spent more than two decades moving through marketing leadership roles in the local market.
He most recently served as vice president of marketing for Hollywood Casino at Greektown, where he oversaw marketing, advertising, loyalty, entertainment, public relations and VIP initiatives.
During his time there, he directed the property's rebrand to Hollywood Casino, oversaw the integration of its technology and loyalty programs, and helped launch several digital gaming and customer engagement platforms.
New Role At MGM Grand Detroit
In his new position, Bufalini will oversee MGM Grand Detroit's marketing organization, including direct marketing, communications, advertising, and casino marketing functions such as player development and player services operations.
He will work with property and enterprise leadership to strengthen customer relationships and the guest experience.
"Ryan's extensive experience, strategic vision and deep roots in the Detroit gaming market make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team," said Matt Buckley, president and chief operating officer of MGM Grand Detroit, in a statement.

The appointment is the latest in a series of senior marketing changes at MGM Grand Detroit, one of three commercial casinos operating in the city under Michigan Gaming Control Board oversight.
Executive marketing roles at Detroit's commercial casinos carry added weight as operators compete for local retail visits alongside the state's regulated online casino and sports betting markets.

Detroit's Commercial Casino Market
MGM Grand Detroit is one of three commercial casinos operating in Detroit alongside Hollywood Casino at Greektown and MotorCity Casino, all licensed and overseen by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
The property, which marked its 25th anniversary this year, competes for retail casino visits in a market that also includes Michigan's regulated online casino and sports betting industry.
Bufalini's move brings a marketing executive who has worked across two of Detroit's three commercial casino brands over the past decade, having also held a corporate vice president of marketing role at JACK Entertainment earlier in his career, before his most recent post at Hollywood Casino at Greektown.
Scope Of The Role
The vice president of marketing role Bufalini is stepping into sits at the property level rather than the corporate level, meaning his remit covers MGM Grand Detroit specifically rather than MGM Resorts' broader portfolio of Las Vegas and regional properties.
Property-level marketing leads at commercial casinos typically report through to both the general manager's office and the parent company's enterprise marketing function, as reflected in MGM Grand Detroit's announcement, which described Bufalini's mandate to work with both property and enterprise leadership.
