⭐ My Best Bet: Dallas Goedert Under 40.5 Receiving Yards (-120) at BetMGM

Coming off a five-catch, 77-yard, and one-touchdown performance in Week 7, we will look for Goedert to regress here for the first pick in our Eagles vs. Commander predictions.

This season, Goedert has exceeded 40.5 receiving yards in only two games. Still, there were two others where he finished with 41 and 42, barely covering this number.

He had 41 targets this season through seven games, averaging close to six per game. He has a 75.6% reception rate, meaning he catches about 4.3 per game. He averages 10.5 yards per reception, but he’s had three games where that number is 8.4 or less.

Here, he’ll match up with a mix of Jamin Davis and Cody Barton. Davis allows about 31 receiving yards per game, while Barton allows just over 25. Barton hasn’t practiced this week and could be out for this game.

If he’s out, expect Davis to be on him most of the game. He does allow 75% of the targets his way to be caught, but he tends to hold those he’s covering to low receiving totals.

The Eagles are one of the top rushing offenses in the league and are also a seven-point favorite here.

Look for the Eagles to take the lead, run, and for Goedert to have a bit of a regression from last week.

⭐ Sam Howell Over 34.5 Attempts (+100) at FanDuel

For the next of our NFL Picks and Props, we’re riding the arm of the young starting quarterback for Washington, Sam Howell.

Heading into this Commanders vs. Eagles prediction, Howell has attempted 35 passes or more in a game in four of seven games.

Against the Eagles, the Commander is an underdog by a touchdown, and we’ll likely need to see Howell throw a bunch here.

These teams played in Week 4 in Philadelphia. In that game, Howell attempted 41 passes, completed 29, and went for 290 and a touchdown. That was an overtime loss. So, sure, those attempts are a bit skewed.

Since Week 3, he’s attempted four or more passes in three of four opportunities.

The Eagles are one of the best teams in the NFL right now. While this is their second game this season, the Commanders' lack of protection (they’ve allowed 40 sacks) will cause them to continuously trail and require Howell to throw. He’s tied for fourth in the NFL in attempts and should continue throwing here against their NFC East rival.

⭐ Terry McLaurin Anytime TD (+215) at DraftKings

It’s been a tough year in the touchdown department for McLaurin, scoring just one all season, but we like his chances here.

Lining up on the outside, McLaurin will face Darius Slay, who’s still returning from a recent injury, and James Bradberry, who’s been limited in practice this week.

In their last outing, McLaurin caught eight passes for 86 yards.

He also caught four passes on four targets for 39 yards against Slay. He didn’t face Bradberry, but he caught one pass on two targets against Josh Jobe.

The point is he had success then, and the Commanders are once again underdogs against them. McLaurin leads the team in targets, and it’s only a matter of time before he finds the end zone.

For a player of his caliber having +215 odds to score, we’ll roll the dice on the final selection of our NFL Week 8 Predictions featuring the Commanders and Eagles.
