Commanders vs. Patriots NFL Week 9 Player Props

⭐ My Best Bet: Sam Howell Over 22.5 Completions (-110) at BetMGM

Heading into this Commanders vs. Patriots prediction, Washington quarterback Sam Howell ranks first in dropbacks, second in attempts, third in completions, and sixth in passing yards this season.

Against the Patriots, he’ll face a defense where opposing quarterbacks have 23.3 completions per game and 25.7 over the past three games. Regarding attempts, the opposing quarterbacks have 34.9 per game this season and 39.3 over the past three games.

The average line for quarterbacks this year against the team in Massachusetts is 35 attempts, 23 completions, and 237 yards.

The Patriots more recently played Miami and Buffalo. Hence, the stats over the last three games are slightly inflated due to facing Josh Allen and Tua Tagovailoa. Still, few quarterbacks throw the ball more than Howell.

Look for Howell to throw plenty of times here once again. Take the over of the first of our NFL Week 9 predictions.

⭐ Terry McLaurin Anytime TD (+200) at FanDuel

Washington wide receiver Terry McLaurin has seen 63 targets and has caught 43 for 495 yards and two scores. He scored in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles. This week, he’ll see plenty of action against Patriots cornerback J.C. Jackson.

Since coming to the Patriots, Jackson started playing decently regarding yards allowed, but he’s gotten beaten up in the last two games. In his last two games, Jackson has allowed 12 receptions on 19 targets for 155 yards and three touchdowns. He allowed 18.8 yards per catch against the Dolphins last week, but of course, that’s against an offense with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

The Commanders have a bunch of weapons, and Howell throws the ball plenty. Getting +200 value, look for McLaurin to find the endzone in back-to-back games for the first time since Week 7 and 9 in the 2020 season.

⭐ Best Betting Pick: Terry McLaurin Anytime TD (+200) at FanDuel

⭐ Mac Jones Under 0.5 INTs (+100) at DraftKings

It’s been a tough season for the Patriots and quarterback Mac Jones, but we will take his side for our final NFL Picks and Props selection here.

At +100, we’re taking the under on his interceptions. This season, the Commanders have just five interceptions. Of those five, three came in one game against the Atlanta Falcons. Other than that, they haven’t had one since Week 3.

The Commanders traded away two pass rushers in Sweat and Young, which will be helpful for Jones as his poor offensive line has less competition here.

Look for Jones to stay clean against a defense that doesn’t get many interceptions and a softer pass rush.
