The Dallas Cowboys are set for their second preseason game, this time in Seattle.

Coming off a narrow 28-23 defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars in their preseason opener, the Cowboys are eager to register a victory against the Seattle Seahawks.

With Ezekiel Elliott's departure from the Cowboys, the backup slot behind Troy Pollard remains vacant. Following a dynamic showing against the Jaguars, 21-year-old Deuce Vaughn has set his sights on securing that offensive position in the upcoming weekend.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks are riding high on momentum, having staged a 24-13 turnaround against the Minnesota Vikings, a game in which they trailed 10-0 in the second quarter.

The Dallas Cowboys' backfield has undergone significant changes. Ezekiel Elliott's era of dominance seems to be over as the Cowboys have chosen not to retain him, pivoting towards Tony Pollard. Last season, 

Pollard emerged as the lead rusher, accumulating over 1,000 yards in 16 games, while Elliott, missing two games, concluded with 876 yards.

Quarterback Dak Prescott, despite missing five games, is back in action, having notched just under 3,000 passing yards last season. CeeDee Lamb, Prescott's primary receiver, amassed 1,359 yards previously and is determined to cross the 1,000-yard mark again. 

In a preseason game, quarterbacks Will Grier and Cooper Rush represented Dallas, with Grier recording two touchdowns, one interception, and 199 passing yards. Notably, John Stephens Jr and Jalen Tolbert stood out for the team. 

Additionally, Deuce Vaughn, the ex-Kansas State Wildcat, registered 50 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Cowboys will kick off their 2023 NFL regular season against the New York Giants, followed by a home game against the Jets.

On the other hand, the Seattle Seahawks, under Pete Carroll, are eager for the new season. Last season, Geno Smith played every quarterback down, marking impressive stats with over 4,000 passing yards and 30 touchdowns. 

DK Metcalf, with over 1,000 yards, remained his primary target. However, the running game presents uncertainties, especially with Kenneth Walker's recent injury. During the preseason opener, Bryant Koback and Zach Charbonnet had early opportunities but lacked impact. 

Quarterbacks Holten Ahlers and Drew Lock took charge, with Lock securing two touchdowns. Jake Bobo, Matt Landers, and Easop Winston Jr were the touchdown recipients.

The Seahawks will conclude their preseason against Green Bay. They'll begin the regular season hosting the Rams, followed by a match in Detroit. Last season, betting on the Seahawks was intriguing due to their undervalued status.

It's unclear who the Seahawks will start as quarterback for this matchup. 

However, anticipate the Seahawks' defense to stifle the Cowboys' offense, especially given the whispers that Dallas might not field Prescott in the preseason games this year. 

The spread currently leans -7 towards the Seahawks, a sizeable nod, given the evident depth the Seahawks possess both offensively and defensively relative to the Cowboys.

Lock looked fantastic in Week 1, reminding the Seahawks why they considered him as Russell Wilson’s successor. He’ll likely have another strong outing as he leads Seattle to a win.
