Fubo Gaming Agrees to Deal With MLS Team Houston Dynamo

Fubo Gaming announced Thursday that they have agreed to a long-term “two-pronged” deal with the Houston Dynamo Football Club.
As part of the deal, there will be an “integrated marketing campaign and market access”.
The deal is pending the passage of legal sports betting in the state of Texas and is the first deal Fubo Gaming has made with a Major League Soccer club.
“This partnership represents a significant step forward for our club, and I am proud to welcome fuboTV and Fubo Gaming to the Dynamo and Dash family,” Houston Dynamo FC president John Walker said in a news release.
“Fubo Gaming is at the forefront of the sports gaming industry and will be leaders in shaping how we enjoy sports in the years to come. We look forward to working with their industry experts to deliver best-in-class experiences for our fans and continually improve the fan experience as the landscape evolves.”
Sports Betting in Texas Has Uphill Climb
Fubo Gaming is the first owned-and-operated sportsbook that has the “integration of a mobile sportsbook with live streaming service in the U.S.” and will bring an “immersive and interactive sports betting experience to the passionate sports community in Texas.
Sports betting in Texas, policy-wise, dates to 2019 when Democratic Rep. Eddie Lucio brought forth HB 1275. While the bill was initially struck down, it is still considered to be in play, but must receive a majority vote in the Texas House of Representatives.
The first pass at the bill was struck down by Republicans in the state and the Texas House of Representatives currently has 83 seats occupied by Republicans, whereas Democrats hold 67 seats.
Right now, horse racing, dog racing, and lottery play are legal in Texas and there are eight legal Tribal casinos.
What Fubo Deal with Dynamo Means
The partnership between Fubo Gaming and the Houston Dynamo will also mean that Fubo Gaming will be the Official Sports Betting Partner of the Club, and fuboTV branding will be featured on the Houston Dynamo FC and Houston Dash training tops.
Additionally, the Fubo brand will be found on the Club’s “television and podcast programming, digital and social channels, in-stadium signage and as part of community activations.”
