No, the spread does not matter for this game whatsoever, but it will give us an indication of who is favored. The spread on this game at FanDuel Sportsbook is the Dolphins -5.5 at home. The total is 46 points. This leaves an implied team total in the high 20’s for the Dolphins. Remember, we simply need to pick the winner here at +3000 odds.

Looking at the Texans, they rank 31st in coverage, 16th in pass rush, 26th in run defense, and are the overall 31st ranked defense, according to Pro Football Focus. On the flip side, the Dolphins rank 19th, 22nd, 7th, and tied for 15th in those categories, respectively. However, the Dolphins are terrible at blocking up front, ranking 32nd in pass blocking and 25th in run blocking.

Remember, we established already that this was a less-than-stellar game, but we need to make that $150. While it has not gone well for the Dolphins this season, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has performed well against bad defenses.

However, in those Week 6 and 7 games, Tagovailoa combined for a 74.7 completion percentage, 620 passing yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. All in all, given his supporting cast and offensive line, Tagovailoa has done the best he can and does carve up opposing defenses.

The Texans have named quarterback Tyrod Taylor the starter for this game, but it will be his first start since Week 2. This is an excellent matchup for Taylor to make his comeback in, but coming off injured reserve and having not played in multiple weeks, we could see some rust from Taylor.
