Eagles vs. Buccaneers Betting Trends & NFL Week 3 Predictions

How to Watch Eagles vs. Buccaneers

  • Date: Monday, September 25, 2023
  • Kick Off: 7:15 PM ET
  • Location: Raymond James Stadium – Tampa, FL
  • Where to Watch: ABC/ESPN+

The Eagles (2-0; 1-0-1 ATS) are heading to Tampa with some extra rest following a 34-28 home victory to the Minnesota Viking in Week 2 Thursday Night Football. Philadelphia outgained Minnesota 430-374 in total yards and won the turnover battle 4-1, but it wasn’t enough to beat a 6-point line, as the Viking scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

D’Andre Swift led the way for the Eagles last week, posting 28 carries for 175 yards and a touchdown. Jalen Hurts went 18-of-23 for 193 yards, a touchdown, and an interception while scoring twice on his own, and DeVonta Smith had four catches for 131 yards and a TD. Now, the Eagles are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games overall. They’ve won eight of their previous nine road contests while covering only three times in that stretch.

Key Players Missing: CB Avonte Maddox (pectoral), S Terrell Edmunds (questionable, illness)

The Buccaneers (2-0; 2-0 ATS) built on their 20-17 Week 1 victory at the Minnesota Vikings, beating the Chicago Bears 27-17 last Sunday. Tampa Bay easily covered a 2.5-point spread at home while outgaining the hapless Bears 437-236 in total yards. Baker Mayfield completed 26 of his 34 passing attempts for 317 yards and a touchdown, and Mike Evans had six catches for a whopping 171 yards and a TD.

The Bucs have covered in three of their last four regular-season contests, but they are still just 4-13-1 ATS in their previous 18 games overall. The total has gone under in each of their last six encounters with the NFC East, and I’m looking at the under as one of my Eagles vs. Buccaneers predictions for Monday night.

Key Players Missing: DL Calijah  Kancey (questionable, calf)

Eagles vs. Buccaneers Betting Trends:

  • Eagles: 3-6 ATS in the last nine road games
  • Buccaneers: 3-1 ATS in the last four games vs. Eagles
  • Over/Under: The under is 6-0 in Tampa’s last six games vs. NFC East and 5-1 in Phila’s last six vs. NFC South

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Odds, NFL Picks & NFL Best Bets

The Eagles should see off the Bucs’ challenge, but I’m not sure they’ll be able to do it comfortably. Tampa Bay’s offensive line will be a key factor, as the Bucs have to give Baker Mayfield enough time in the pocket to find his targets. The Eagles’ run D is one of the best in the NFL, and the Bucs won’t pull off an upset on the back of their ground game. Now, let’s take a look at my Eagles vs. Buccaneers prediction along with my favorite NFL player prop.

⭐ NFL Pick 1: Tampa Bay Buccaneers +5.0 (-110) at BetMGM

The Bucs will find a way to contain the Eagles’ mighty rushing. Philadelphia’s secondary is the team’s biggest flaw, no doubt, and the Bucs should exploit it enough to keep this game close. The Eagles are yielding the second-most passing yards per game in the NFL (333.0), so I’m backing the Buccaneers to cover a 5-point spread at -110 odds with BetMGM

⭐ NFL Pick 2: Under 46.0 total points (-110) at Caesars

It’s hard to rush efficiently against these two teams. The Buccaneers surrender just 54.0 rushing yards per game, and the Eagles are even better, yielding 52.0 rushing yards per contest. I’m expecting both teams to struggle to move the chains frequently. Furthermore, Baker Mayfield and Jalen Hurts will be under huge pressure, as these two defensive lines own plenty of dangerous weapons. When it comes to the totals, my Eagles vs. Buccaneers prediction is Under 46.0 points (-110) at Caesars

⭐ NFL Player Prop: Mike Evans over 54.5 receiving yards (-115) at FanDuel

Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans have shown great chemistry through the first two weeks of the new season. I’ve mentioned Evans’ stellar performance in Week 2. We should see more of the same when he takes on the Eagles’ fragile secondary, so give me Mike Evans Over 54.5 receiving yards (-110) at FanDuel. Evans had six catches for 66 yards and a touchdown in Week 1. He sits at +200 to score anytime against the Eagles at bet365.
