Baltimore's 25-game preseason winning streak came to a shuddering halt last week against Washington, but the Ravens will look to bounce back in their upcoming game with Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Coming off a 13-6 victory over the Jets, the Buccaneers are keen to maintain their momentum after an initial 17-27 preseason setback against the Steelers.

This week, Tampa Bay plans to field their starting offense in the hope of fostering team cohesion as the regular season approaches.

In their last preseason showdown before the 2023 regular season kicks off, the Baltimore Ravens will square off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Recently suffering a 29-28 defeat that ended their 24-game preseason winning streak, the Ravens are primarily focused on improving upon their wild card playoff berth from last year.

Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have had a mixed preseason so far and are eager to launch their new chapter without Tom Brady at the helm by securing a win.

Both teams are keen to set a positive tone for the 2023 season, making this upcoming preseason encounter one to watch.

Ravens vs Buccaneers NFL Week 3 Predictions

Last year, the Ravens made the playoffs but stumbled offensively after Lamar Jackson's injury, averaging only 20.6 points per game.

Jackson is back with a long-term contract, but the upcoming preseason spotlight falls on backups Tyler Huntley and Josh Johnson.

Huntley's hamstring issue puts his appearance in doubt. The receiving unit, apart from tight end Mark Andrews, faces scrutiny, making the game pivotal for rookie Zay Flowers and veterans Devin Duvernay and Tylan Wallace.

Defensively, after allowing only 18.5 points per game last season, the Ravens have questions about interior pressure and cornerback reliability, with eyes on Brent Urban, Travis Jones, and corners like Arthur Maulet.

The Buccaneers are entering a post-Tom Brady era, having reached the playoffs for three consecutive seasons and winning a 2021 Super Bowl.

Baker Mayfield takes the helm, but backups John Wolford and Kyle Trask will play the final preseason game. The offensive line, criticized last year, makes this a significant game for rookie Cody Mauch and others.

On defense, after allowing an average of 21.1 points last season, the secondary remains a concern, with cornerbacks Dee Delaney and Zyon McCollum and safety Nolan Turner looking to prove their reliability.

Buccaneers by 1-13 Points (+155) at BetMGM

Todd Bowles has openly confirmed that newly-designated starting quarterback Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay's primary offensive lineup will see action in the preseason finale. On the other hand, John Harbaugh remains more guarded, revealing only that Lamar Jackson has expressed a desire to participate in the final preseason match.

Jackson's last preseason appearance was a brief stint of just 10 snaps during Baltimore's third preseason game in 2021, and he didn't participate in any other preseason games that season.

Given Bowles' forthright declaration that the starting offense will be in play, coupled with the Buccaneers receiving higher PFF grades than the Ravens this preseason, we're identifying this as our top best NFL bet today.

Buccaneers -1.5 (-110) at Draftkings

Should Mayfield's field time be brief on Saturday night, Kyle Trask is well-equipped to take over the reins for the Buccaneers. Trask was in contention for Tampa Bay's starting quarterback position throughout the offseason.

Rather than Trask losing out on the starting role, it was more a case of Mayfield securing it. Mayfield had an efficient performance, completing eight of his nine passes for 63 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Trask had a substantial volume of play, completing 26 out of 38 passes for 317 yards, with one touchdown and one interception.

Over 36.5 (-110) at FanDuel

In terms of preseason scoring this year, the Ravens exceeded the total in both of their games, while the Buccaneers did so once and fell short once. When their points for and against are combined, they've averaged 39.75 points per game this preseason.

Although Tampa Bay's Mayfield-Trask duo has been noteworthy, John Wolford also deserves mention. After a neck injury that sent him to the hospital last week, he's back in practice.

For the Ravens, if Jackson takes a drive, he has the potential to put points on the board. Tyler Huntley and Josh Johnson have also been strong preseason contributors for Baltimore, although Huntley missed the second game and has been absent from practice this week.

Adding to the scoring potential is Anthony Brown, who has been beneficial for exceeding the total. He's thrown two touchdowns and two interceptions on 18 attempts and has also shown mobility, rushing for 52 yards on four carries.
