Tuesday's WNBA schedule features six teams vying to improve their playoff positioning. Two of those are the Washington Mystics and Connecticut Sun. The Sun have won all three prior matchups against Washington, but we are going to go a different way for our bet in this matchup.
We're going to take Mystics +6.5 (-110) at BetMGM. This game opened with the Sun at -7.5-point favorites and has already bet been bet down to -5 in some places, so there is still some value on the +6.5 currently available.
One reason we like Washington is how Connecticut has been on a recent slide. The Sun have lost three of their last four games including a loss to lowly 9-20 Phoenix and a 20-point beatdown at home to the Dallas Wings. Connecticut just seems stuck in a lull, despite being tied for the second seed in the east.
Washington has won two of its last three as it looks to improve on its No. 7 seed in the WNBA. Elena Della Donne is still out for Washington, but the team has adjusted with her out as Natasha Cloud has continued to efficiently lead the Mystics.
Washington is 4-1 against the spread as a home underdog this season, and we like that to continue on Tuesday.

We're going against one of the hottest trends in the WNBA. In the Atlanta Dream's last eight games, the under has hit. Go back further and the trend becomes even more ridiculous with 15 of the Dream's last 16 games going under the posted total. Las Vegas has also been an under team as of late, with it hitting in the Aces' previous four games. In their previous two meetings, the under hit easily with the teams scoring just 151 points when the total was at 176.5 on Aug. 13, and then scoring just 165 when the total was 180.5 on Aug. 1.
We're going against the grain and taking over 167.5 (-110) at bet365. Mostly because at some point there needs to be some positive shooting regression back to the average for the Dream. Here's their 3-point percentage in five of their recent games: 28%, 25%, 17%, 15% and 20%. This is a team that ranks sixth in the league in 3-point percentage at 34% that has simply had terrible shooting nights consecutively at an abnormal rate.
They'll now face an Aces team that is coming off its first home regular-season loss and has struggled a bit offensively from the juggernaut status we are accustomed to. But we expect them to bounce back offensively against a Dream team it has already scored 93 and 86 points against this much.

Minnesota is also dealing with its own internal issues. Reserve guard Aerial Powers already voiced her frustrations over her lack of playing time on social media and has made it known she plans on being on a different team next season. After those comments were made, the Lynx lost at home to the Seattle Storm 88-74 as 5.5-point favorites.
With the Lynx currently dealing with a fractured team, we're going with the streaking Wings.
