ProphetX Prediction Market Review 2026 - Promo Code GDC

Reviewed by

After testing ProphetX's exchange model and reviewing its newly certified CFTC bonus program, our reviewers found that the sports-focused ProphetX fully leans into player props, game lines, and futures. While this is a narrower focus than Polymarket's, ProphetX is a great option for ex-betting-exchange users looking to move to sports prediction markets.

Where most prediction markets ask you to think like a political forecaster or a macro trader, ProphetX keeps things in familiar territory: moneylines, spreads, totals, and props, just priced by other traders instead of a house. It also supports peer-to-peer parlays with no added house fee, a format sports bettors will recognize.

With federal CFTC oversight now in place, a newly certified sign-up bonus, and broad state availability, ProphetX is a bridge between sports event contracts and the exchange-style trading that's reshaping the industry in the US.

Pros
  • Sports-exclusive focus with deep coverage of props, futures, live markets
  • Peer-to-peer parlays with 0% house fee
  • No affiliated trading arm (ProphetX doesn't take the other side of user trades)
  • Doesn't limit winning accounts
  • CFTC-regulated and available in 49 states
  • Transparent, simple commission model
  • Instant deposits with online banking
  • Instant crypto withdrawals
Cons
  • No politics, economics, culture, or crypto markets
  • Liquidity can be thinner on lower-profile markets than on marquee games
  • Only three deposit and three withdrawal methods (including only 1 crypto)
  • Incentive funds must be used within 45 days or they're forfeited
  • No social features

Who is ProphetX?

ProphetX has a relatively long history in the prediction market space for a platform still finding its footing with regulators. The company launched as Prophet Exchange in 2018, previously held a New Jersey sportsbook license, and ran a sweepstakes-style platform before transitioning to its current form as a CFTC-regulated exchange.

That transition became official in mid-2026. ProphetX received Commodity Futures Trading Commission approval shortly before the FIFA World Cup, clearing it to operate as a federally regulated prediction market nationwide. The approval came out of a large backlog of pending CFTC applications, and ProphetX was one of the first sports-focused exchanges to clear it, alongside competitor Novig.

Unlike some rival exchanges, it has no affiliated trading arm taking the other side of customer positions, and instead relies on third-party institutional market makers to provide liquidity. Co-founder Jake Benzaquen has framed this as a fairness argument; the exchange isn't competing against its own users for the same liquidity pool.

How are they regulated?

ProphetX operates as a CFTC-regulated exchange, with contracts self-certified under CFTC Regulation 40.6(a). Users must be 18+ and located in an eligible state to participate.

Where are they Available?

ProphetX is available in 49 states, with Nevada as the sole exclusion.

You must place trades from within eligible states, and ProphetX uses geolocation to confirm where you're trading from.

What Markets do They Offer?

ProphetX is intentionally narrower than generalist competitors because it doesn't cover political, economic, or crypto markets.

Instead, it focuses entirely on major US and international sports, including the NFL, college football, NBA, college basketball, WNBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, and more. Coverage also extends to MMA and boxing, PGA golf, tennis, F1 and NASCAR motorsports, and esports.

Within each sport, available contract types include game winners via moneylines and spreads, totals, player props, futures, and live in-play trading.

How Does ProphetX Work?

ProphetX runs on a peer-to-peer exchange model: rather than setting a fixed price and taking the other side of every trade, it lets users either accept an existing market price or post their own price and wait for another trader to match it. If there isn't enough liquidity at your chosen price, your order can fill partially, with the remainder staying open until it's matched or you cancel it.

This exchange structure means ProphetX doesn't bake a house margin into its lines. Instead, the platform earns revenue through a commission charged on a user's net winnings in a given market, applied after the fact rather than built into the price upfront.

Back-and-Lay Trading

The platform supports back-and-lay betting, allowing traders to take either side of an outcome and use exchange-style strategies.

Peer-to-Peer Parlays

ProphetX has rolled out peer-to-peer parlays with no added house fee, combining the format with exchange-style pricing on every leg.

Fees & Payment Methods

ProphetX has fully retired its earlier Prophet Points/Prophet Cash sweepstakes model. It operates on real cash only, consistent with its CFTC-regulated status.

Accepted payment methods include online banking through Aeropay, wire transfers, and Zerohash cryptocurrency. Crypto payouts are instant, while online banking and wire transfers typically take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours.

Straight trades carry a 2% trading fee on net gains per market, while parlay trades carry a 0% trading fee on net gains.

Promotions

New ProphetX users can get a $75 credit with code GDC when they make $50 in a single or combined trades within 30 days of creating their account. The day you cross the $50 trading threshold becomes your "Qualification Date" or Day 0.

The $75 bonus is paid out in three installments of $25 each over the course of 14 days: on Day 1, Day 7, and Day 14 after your Qualification Date.

Use each installment within 45 days. Trade with each $25 chunk within 45 days of it landing, or it's forfeited.

How to Sign Up

  1. Confirm you're a first-time participant. You must never have registered with this exchange (or any of its affiliates) before under this or a prior account. If you've had an account here before, you won't qualify.
  2. Sign up and get account approval. Complete the exchange's signup process. Your eligibility clock (the 30-day window) starts once the exchange formally approves your trading account, not when you first sign up.
  3. Deposit money into your account using a payment method that won't bounce or get reversed.
  4. Place a qualifying trade (or trades) totaling $50+. Within 30 days of approval, open a position (or several) using at least $50 of your own funds as collateral, in total. Remember: only trades that open a position count, and any trade executed above $0.80 doesn't count toward this $50. If you're not sure a trade will count, keep it at or below $0.80 and make sure it opens a new position, not closes one.
  5. Hit your Qualification Date. The day your trades add up to $50 in qualifying volume is your "Day 0." Note this date; your bonus installments are scheduled relative to it.
  6. Collect your $25 installments. Your $75 total bonus arrives automatically in three parts: Day 1, Day 7, and Day 14 after your Qualification Date. It's been credited to your account.
  7. Use each installment within 45 days. Trade with each $25 chunk within 45 days of it landing, or it's forfeited. Bonus funds get used before your own money when you open a new position, so this often happens naturally if you keep trading.

Welcome Offer Terms & Conditions

  • First-time participants only
  • Must place qualifying trade(s) totaling $50+ within 30 days of approval
  • Only trades that open a position count; trades priced above $0.80 don't count toward the $50
  • $75 total bonus, paid as three $25 installments on Day 1, Day 7, and Day 14 (measured from your "Qualification Date")
  • Each $25 installment must be used within 45 days of being credited, or it's forfeited
  • Withdrawable only after a position funded by it settles; the bonus credit itself can't be withdrawn directly
"This is a fairly lean welcome offer compared to some competitors' multi-step bonus ladders, but the spread-out bonuses and 1x playthrough reflect tighter compliance standards that come with CFTC-regulated status. You can feel safe knowing that you'll receive your bonus credits quickly and securely from a regulated platform."

Ongoing Offers

ProphetX runs a referral program: inviting a friend earns the referrer a $25 trading credit for their first successful referral, with the reward increasing by $5 for each additional qualifying referral, up to $50 per referral. The referred user needs to open a new account, deposit at least $50 within 30 days, and place at least $50 in qualifying trades; both accounts must remain in good standing.

Referral credits become withdrawable only after being used in a trade that settles, and unused credits expire after 45 days.

App & Site User Experience

ProphetX's iOS and Android mobile apps are built for users who think in terms of price and probability, the kind of trader who compares pricing, tracks line movement, and looks for inefficiencies across markets.

While ProphetX doesn't show full order book depth, the trading screen does display live liquidity a few price levels deep on each market, which helps when sizing up a trade.

User feedback on the app has generally been positive, though new users might find that the format takes a little getting used to. Even so, you won't face account limiting, so it's worth a slight learning curve.

One improvement we'd like to see is more detailed stats after a contract has settled. It would be helpful to see a final stat line next to your settled contract, rather than just showing whether you won or lost the trade.

Fortunately, the app has continued updating, demonstrating that the platform is always evolving, including the recent rollout of no-fee peer-to-peer parlays, an improved search function for markets, players, teams, and leagues, and expanded football markets and props.

How ProphetX Compares to Other Prediction Market Apps

Compared with general platforms like Polymarket and OG Markets, ProphetX gives up breadth (no politics, economics, or crypto markets) and social features, like live profit & loss leaderboards and real-time chats, in exchange for much deeper sports markets, including a parlay builder, props and futures.

ProphetX's exchange model removes the built-in house margin, which typically results in sharp pricing, especially on props and lines close to even money.

Safety & Responsibility Measures

Sign-Up & Account Verification

ProphetX requires standard identity verification (KYC) as part of onboarding, consistent with its status as a CFTC-regulated exchange. You'll need a government-issued ID and to pass verification before trading.

Customer Support

Support is available through an online help center with FAQs and platform guides, email support, and a ticketed support system, with a listed phone line at 570-707-7912 for direct contact.

Responsible Trading

ProphetX has a fairly complete responsible-use toolkit built into the app: deposit limits, trading breaks, self-exclusion, account closure, account statements, and a marketing opt-out. ProphetX also connects users to Birches Health for confidential problem-trading support, in addition to standard resources like the National Council on Problem Gambling.

Our Final Verdict on ProphetX

ProphetX carves out a clear niche: a CFTC-regulated exchange built entirely around sports, with exchange-style pricing, no-fee parlays, and no affiliated trading desk competing against its own users. The $20 new-user bonus is modest next to some competitors' welcome offers, but you are quickly certified and paid out by the next day.

There are notable gaps: ProphetX offers no non-sports markets, and there's no loyalty program for frequent traders.

But for sports traders who want sharp pricing and are comfortable with exchange mechanics, ProphetX is the prediction market app for you.
