Atlantic City Sees Record Online Gambling & Strong Casino Growth In October

Atlantic City’s gaming industry continued its strong trend in October, with online gambling setting new highs while land-based casinos also performed well.

According to new data from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, online gambling generated $260 million last month, surpassing the previous record of $248 million.

The sustained growth underscores the significant impact digital gambling is having throughout the state.

The nine Atlantic City casinos generated $234.7 million in gross gaming revenue from in-person gaming, a 12.5% increase from October 2024.

This marks the highest October brick-and-mortar total since 2011 and exceeds September 2025 figures, an unusual occurrence during a typically slower period for the resort.

Seven of the nine casinos reported higher in-person revenue than one year ago, signalling continued recovery in Atlantic City’s physical gaming sector.

Casino Results And Market Outlook

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa led the market with $68.4 million from in-person wagering, a substantial 28.2% increase.

Ocean Casino Resort followed with $39.4 million, and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City rounded out the top three at $42.4 million. Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City reported $17.4 million.

Most casinos posted increases except Tropicana Atlantic City, which fell 8.9% to $16.1 million, and Bally’s Atlantic City, which dipped 1.2% to $11.3 million.

Only Hard Rock and Ocean exceeded their October 2019 figures before the COVID-19 pandemic.

When including revenue from both internet gambling and sports betting, total revenue for casinos and their affiliates reached $611 million, up 22.3% from the previous year.

Although online and sports betting offer substantial wins, casinos still consider in-person gaming their core business.

Online and sportsbook revenues are typically shared with external partners such as technology suppliers and sportsbook operators.

As leaders in online gaming, FanDuel generated $60.8 million, a 26.1% increase over last year.

Sports betting experienced substantial growth as well, with casinos, two racetracks, and their partners reporting $116.1m in revenue - nearly 50% higher than in October 2024.

The combined strength of online gaming, in-person gambling, and expanding sports betting activity reinforces Atlantic City’s growing importance within New Jersey’s entertainment and gaming economy.
