ESPN BET North Carolina Preparing for Sports Betting as from March 11

ESPN BET to enter North Carolina Sports Betting with Quail Hollow Club

ESPN BET North Carolina is set to make a significant entrance into the state's sports betting market on March 11. This entry is marked by an innovative partnership with Quail Hollow Club, a premier country club and golf course in Charlotte, and the Wells Fargo Championship, opting for a collaboration with these entities over a sports team alliance.

The partnership establishes ESPN BET North Carolina as the sole official betting operator for the PGA Tour's Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club, traditionally held in early May.

Benjie Levy, Head of Penn Interactive and responsible for managing the online sportsbook ESPN BET North Carolina, shared his excitement about sponsoring the Wells Fargo Championship. He anticipates engaging fans through creative activations in conjunction with their new partners.

Having launched in November across 17 states, ESPN BET is gearing up to make its mark in North Carolina's burgeoning betting industry from March 11, aiming to stand alongside major competitors like FanDuel North Carolina and DraftKings.

Online Sports Betting in NC for March Madness

North Carolina is gearing up for a huge entrance in the US sports betting activity as March Madness approaches, with the state confirming the launch of online sports betting on March 11. This development follows the applications from nine companies eager to operate in the Tar Heel State. One of these is ESPN BET North Carolina which will be offering its service from March 11.

Already, six sports betting entities have secured partnerships: Bet365, BetMGM, DraftKings, Fanatics Betting and Gaming, FanDuel, and PENN Sports Interactive/ESPN BET. Additionally, Underdog Sports is anticipated to announce its agreement soon.

Both Cherokee’s Tribal Casino Gaming Enterprises and the Catawba Two Kings Casino, which currently offer in-person betting, have also applied to extend their services online in North Carolina.

Governor Roy Cooper has openly expressed his ambition to have North Carolina sports betting operational in time for the NCAA basketball tournament, March Madness. With the launch of North Carolina sports betting on March 11, Selection Sunday on March 17 and the tournament kicking off on March 19, the timing seems perfect.

This move comes after Cooper signed a bill in June 2023 to expand gambling options in North Carolina. The legislation permits the North Carolina Lottery Commission to issue up to 12 interactive sports betting licenses. While licenses are yet to be issued, the confirmation of the March 11 launch date aligns perfectly with the excitement of March Madness, setting the stage for a landmark event in North Carolina's sports betting history. We will await for all the North Carolina sportsbook promos to start being rolled out.

Other Playing Options available in North Carolina

While we wait for sports betting and ESPN BET North Carolina, the Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) scene in the state is quite distinct. While there aren't specific laws that explicitly legalize DFS, there's also no legislation prohibiting it. As a result, DFS providers can operate in the state without needing special permits, allowing North Carolinians to participate in these games without any legal worries.

This is excellent news for DFS enthusiasts, as numerous well-known platforms like DraftKings and FanDuel are available. These platforms offer a diverse range of gaming options, spanning major sports such as football, basketball, baseball, and beyond. Whether you're into the NFL, NBA, MLB, or college sports, these platforms cater to a wide variety of preferences for creating fantasy teams and engaging in competitions. For those in North Carolina with a flair for DFS, this presents a fantastic opportunity to dive into the thrill of your favorite sports.
