New York Casino Revenue Jumps 220% As Resorts World Adds Tables

New York's commercial casinos generated $184.3 million in gross gaming revenue in September 2026, up 219.8% from $57.6 million a year earlier.
The gain comes almost entirely from one property. Resorts World New York City in Queens took $126.7 million, according to the New York State Gaming Commission's statewide monthly report.
Why The Number Looks So Big
Resorts World NYC stopped operating as a video lottery terminal facility on April 27 and began running as a commercial casino the next day, the commission's reports show.
The venue was one of three licensed by the commission in December 2025, and the first to open with live table games.
September 2025 only counts the four upstate casinos, so the year-on-year comparison is really upstate against upstate plus Queens.
Strip out Resorts World NYC and the picture is flat. Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady took $20.1 million, Del Lago Resort and Casino $15.0 million, Resorts World Catskills $13.4 million and Tioga Downs $9.0 million.
Those four add up to about $57.6 million, almost identical to the whole statewide total of September 2025.
Slots, Tables And Poker
Slots and electronic table games produced $129.3 million, up from $40.7 million a year earlier.
Live table games took $53.6 million, up from $15.2 million, a rise of 252.7%. Poker added $798,510, and retail sports betting at the casinos produced $641,480 of gross gaming revenue.
The state's cut was large. Gaming tax came to $74.7 million for the month, compared with $13.9 million in September 2025.
By law, most tax receipts from the commercial casinos go to education and property tax relief, with smaller shares for host municipalities and counties, and Resorts World NYC is treated as an exception under the commission's allocation rules.
Down On August
September was not a record. The commission's table shows total gross gaming revenue of $198.9 million in August, so the statewide figure slipped about 7.4% month on month.
The average number of slot machines and electronic table games in operation across the five properties rose to 9,203, but slot win per unit per day fell to $468 from $486 in August.
What To Watch
The commission also licensed Bally's Bronx and Hard Rock Metropolitan Park alongside Resorts World NYC in December 2025.
Neither appears in the commission's revenue reports yet, so for now the state's commercial casino market is a story of one big conversion lifting the total.
For players, the practical change is choice. The Queens venue now offers table games that were not available there before April.
