These Sportsbooks Beat Missouri Application Deadline

The Missouri Gaming Commission has released a list of sports betting operators and suppliers that applied by the Sept. 12 deadline to operate in the state when legal wagering goes live on Dec. 1.

Elizabeth Hoffman, commission public relations coordinator, told Gambling.com on Friday that because applications must be postmarked by Sept. 12, others could arrive in the mail next week.

Beginning on Nov. 17, authorized mobile sports betting companies can let bettors set up online accounts and deposit funds into their accounts, according to the Missouri Gaming Commission. If those companies have their temporary licenses, they can begin live wagering at 12 a.m. on Dec. 1, the commission said.

Once regulated sports betting is underway in Missouri, it will become the 39th state with state with legal wagering. Every state bordering Missouri, except Oklahoma, already allows legal sports betting. Bettors who are at least 21 years old will be able to bet in person at brick-and-mortar sportsbooks or online anywhere in Missouri with the use of a cellphone or computer.

In August, the commission granted two companies—DraftKings and Circa—the right to offer untethered apps to sports bettors when wagering is legal. With that approval, DraftKings and Circa won’t have to partner with a brick-and-mortar casino or a professional sports team to make their apps available. Other sports betting companies must partner with a casino or sports team. Formal applications were due Sept. 12 for those companies wanting to begin operating when legal wagering becomes live Dec. 1.

Hoffman said the sports betting operators below have applied for a mobile or brick-and-mortar license. All applicants still must undergo a regulatory review and verification process.
