Wind Creek Casino Slapped With $125K Fine
Multiple incidents of underage gambling led to Wind Creek Bethlehem Casino being fined a whopping $125,000 by the Pennsylvania Gambling Control Board (PGCB) earlier this month. The fine was announced during the PGCB’s monthly meeting this month.
The Pennsylvania gambling regulator is known for taking incidents that violate the state’s responsible gambling laws extremely seriously, last month fining Hollywood Casino at The Meadows in Washington County $10,000 for allowing a person on the board’s self-exclusion list to gamble.
10 incidents Took Place Over a 20 Month Period
The PGCB revealed more details about the case in a press statement, describing how 10 separate incidents took place at Wind Creek Bethlehem in Northampton County over a 20-month period and involved 11 individuals between the ages of 18 and 20.
During the same sitting, the PGCB also banned three adults from all casinos after they were found to have left minors unattended to engage in gaming activities. Two of the bans are new and were handed out to a male and a female patron for abandoning a five-month-old alone in a running vehicle in the parking lot of Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack in Delaware County for 30 minutes.
The third ban reconfirmed an earlier one handed to a woman after she left a four-year-old alone in a car for 15 minutes while she was in Rivers Philadelphia Casino. The incident took place in 2017, but the woman’s request to have it reversed was denied.
Underage gambling is also illegal at PA online casinos.
