BetMGM Sportsbook announced Monday that it is now the exclusive sports betting partner of Major League Baseball’s Houston Astros, marking the first BetMGM relationship in Texas.

"The Houston Astros are a monumental addition to our portfolio of strategic partnerships with professional sports teams across the U.S.," BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt, said in a statement. "The organization's passionate fan base will be key to the growth of BetMGM throughout the South as we look for new ways to engage fans with unique experiences that go beyond the game."

What’s in the Agreement?

Per the agreement, BetMGM will now have signage in and around Minute Maid Park, including a “permanent outfield wall sign and rotational promotional messaging behind home plate.”

Astros fans will also be able to take part in unique VIP experiences that are for BetMGM customers, and BetMGM and the Astros will offer special betting promotions for BetMGM users in Louisiana.

Here are some of the possible experiences:

  • Throw out the first pitch
  • On-field access to batting practice
  • Getaways for away games

"We are looking forward to our partnership with BetMGM. As we continue to strive for new ways to add to the fan experience, this partnership will provide another way for the Astros to engage with our fans,” Giles Kibbe, Senior Vice President, General Counsel for the Astros, said in the statement.

BetMGM is always expanding, but it remains committed to making responsible gaming education a key focus. BetMGM is “proud to provide resources to help customers play responsibly including GameSense, an industry leading program, developed and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.”

Available in 23 markets, BetMGM has mobile apps accessible for both iOS and Android users and desktop access. The brand is looking to expand to more markets including Maryland and Ohio. Hopefully, both states will legalize sports betting and BetMGM Ohio sportsbook will be available locally, increasing the number of legal states for this brand.
