Buffalo Bills Announce Sports Betting Partnership With FanDuel

The Buffalo Bills are the latest NFL team to announce a deal with FanDuel. On Thursday, the team revealed a multi-year partnership, making FanDuel New York an official sports betting partner of the Bills.

“The Bills take pride in being a culture that is built on genuine connection with their fans, and we are absurdly fan-focused at FanDuel, making this a natural collaboration,” Mike Raffensperger, CMO of FanDuel Group, said in a media release. “As we prepare to bring America’s No. 1 sportsbook to New York state, we will collaborate with the Bills to bring unique content and experiences to one of the most loyal fanbases in sports.”

What’s In FanDuel Deal With Bills

The deal will allow FanDuel access to the Bills official logos and marks, in addition to a range of media assets such as TV and radio spots to engage Bills fans. In-game signage and activations will also be prevalent at Highmark Stadium.

FanDuel will also be a presenting sponsor of the Bills-themed podcast, Bills by the Numbers, hosted by Steve Tasker and Chris Brown. The podcast highlights team updates and discusses key fantasy matchups.

“FanDuel has built a strong reputation as a premier sports betting destination for sports fans,” Dan Misko, Pegula Sports & Entertainment Sr. Vice President of Business Development, said in a media release. “The ways they reach people through engaging and entertaining content is innovative and aligns with how we think about connecting with our fans. We’re very excited for all this partnership will offer our valued fans throughout the state of New York as part of their gameday experience and look forward to working with FanDuel for many years to come.”

FanDuel Going Live in New York on Saturday

New York sports betting apps officially go live on Saturday at 9 a.m. ET, and FanDuel has announced it will be one of the operators going live right away.

In addition to FanDuel, Caesars, DraftKings and Rush Street Interactive were approved by the New York Gaming Commission to begin taking bets on Saturday.

“Today’s announcement by the New York State Gaming Commission that four of the nine licensed mobile sports wagering operators have been approved to begin operations starting on Saturday, January 8, 2022, is great news for New York in terms of revenue, new funding for education, addiction programs and youth sports, as well as new jobs," New York Sen. Joseph Addabbo, Jr. said in a statement. "I want to thank the Gaming Commission for their efficiency in ensuring that these operators met all of the requirements to bring their mobile sports betting product to the people of New York ahead of the NFL playoffs. I look forward to the other five operators satisfying the statutory and regulatory requirements necessary to launch in the near future and working with the Hochul Administration and Gaming commission.”

More Sportsbooks to Go Live in NY

When it goes live, New York will become the largest state in the country to feature online sports wagering. The three larger states – California, Texas and Florida – currently lack an open internet sports betting market.

Five other sportsbooks are still awaiting clearance to launch in New York. Bally’s Corp., Wynn Resorts, BetMGM, PointsBet and Genting’s Resorts World still need to be approved by the commission.

In a statement, the commission noted the other sportsbooks who have applied for a mobile betting license “continue to work towards satisfying statutory and regulatory requirements necessary to launch and will be approved on a rolling basis when requirements are met.”
