Florida Non-Tribal Slots Revenue Falls In August
Florida's eight non-tribal casino operators generated $54 million in slot machine revenue for August, down 10.2% from the same month last year, according to figures published by the Florida Gaming Control Commission.
The decline extends a softer run for the state's pari-mutuel slots segment, which posted a smaller 4.8% year-over-year drop the previous month.
Non-Tribal Segment Continues To Cool
Florida's non-tribal slots facilities, largely tied to pari-mutuel venues such as greyhound tracks and jai-alai frontons, do not include revenue generated by the Seminole Tribe's compact-governed casinos, which operate under a separate reporting regime.
The Gaming Control Commission publishes monthly slot revenue by facility as part of its statutory reporting duties.
Follows A Softer July For The Same Segment
The August figures follow a 4.8% year-over-year decline in July, when the same non-tribal facilities generated $55.5 million
That suggests a continuing, rather than one-off, softening in the segment.
