Maine Casinos Notch November Gains As Slot Play Drives Steady Growth Statewide
Maine’s casino market grew slightly in November, with the state’s two gaming facilities jointly reporting total statewide revenue of $13.4million, up 3.3% from the $13.1m generated in November last year.
According to the most recent data from the Maine Gambling Control Unit, both casinos posted year-over-year growth despite an overall decline in table game revenue statewide.
Oxford Casino Hotel once again led the market with $8m in total gaming revenue for the month.
That represents a 3.6% increase over November 2024 and confirms Oxford as Maine’s top-performing casino.
The western Maine venue attracts customers from across the state, as well as from neighboring New Hampshire and Canada, partly due to its resort-style amenities and expansive gaming floor.
Slots continued to generate the bulk of Oxford’s revenue, producing $6.9m in November.
That marked a 4.3% increase from the prior year and underscored the continued strength of Maine’s most popular gaming segment.
Table games posted a slight decline, falling 0.9% from $1.06m to $1.05m. While modest, the decrease signals some softening in table game performance across the state.
Hollywood Casino Bangor, the state’s second gaming venue, also reported improvement in November.
Overall revenue rose 2.9% to $5.4m at the Penobscot River property, which is part of Bangor’s broader entertainment and tourism complex, combining gaming with a hotel, dining options, and event space serving surrounding communities.
As with Oxford, slot play drove most of Hollywood Casino’s growth. Slot revenue climbed 4.7% year over year to $4.4m, continuing an upward trend.
Table game revenue moved in the opposite direction, dropping 4.9% from $979,361 to $931,477. However, stronger slot performance more than offset the decline at the tables.

Across Maine’s casinos, slots generated $11.4m in revenue during November, up 4.5% from $10.9m a year earlier.
In contrast, table game revenue declined 2.8% to $1.97m, reinforcing the long-standing trend that slots account for the majority of play and the most consistent spending in the state.
Some industry observers note that Maine’s growth remains modest compared with many other gaming states.
However, the steady upward trend is viewed as a positive indicator, reflecting a stable market supported by loyal local and regional players.

Unlike states that rely heavily on destination tourism, Maine’s casino economy is driven largely by repeat visitation, making gradual, sustained growth a favorable sign.
