MGM and BetMGM Beef Up Tools to Help in Responsible Gaming

Continuing their efforts to evolve responsible gaming in the best online casinos space, MGM Resorts International and BetMGM announced their next steps Tuesday, including “providing the gaming industry's most comprehensive tools for both in-person and online gaming to help players make responsible, informed decisions”.

This announcement comes from BetMGM and MGM Resorts International right as we enter March 2022, a month in which they are joining the National Council on Problem Gambling for promoting Problem Gambling Awareness Month.

MGM Using GameSense for Education

Starting today, you will find various QR codes on slot machines throughout brick-and-mortar MGM Resorts casino floors that provide access to responsible gaming education and information and signage throughout the properties from GameSense.

GameSense was developed and licensed to MGM Resorts in 2017 by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. It focuses on “positive, transparent, and proactive conversations with players about how to gamble responsibly.”

According to MGM Resorts, they recently expanded its GameSense Advisor employee training program and now have over 180 GameSense Advisors fully certified and working at various MGM Resorts throughout the country. Additionally, employees, in general, will receive GameSense training to reinforce this company's value.

"As we enter our fifth year with GameSense, we remain focused on offering new and innovative resources to our guests, designed to increase responsible gaming awareness and to promote healthy play," MGM Resorts CEO & President Bill Hornbuckle said in a news release. "GameSense remains an instrumental part of our guest service model and we're confident that it has and will continue to make a difference."

Mobile and Desktop Platforms Using GameSense

With March here, GameSense is fully integrated into BetMGM’s desktop and mobile platforms as well. This does not replace the tools BetMGM Sportsbook already has in place when it comes to responsible gaming, but rather is meant to complement them.

On the online platforms, GameSense is meant to offer bettors on BetMGM information about “how to set responsible gaming limits, dispels common gambling myths, explains the basic rules to understand how gambling works, and gives easily accessible resources for customers and their families to receive support and assistance for anyone concerned about problem gambling.”

"Our industry is expanding at a rapid rate as more markets legalize sports betting, and we're committed to growing the right way. It is important to empower and educate our customers, and the enhancements we've invested into GameSense within BetMGM provides the best information and guest services for players to bet responsibly,” BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said in the release.

BetMGM and MGM Resorts are also part of the American Gaming Association initiative “Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly” public service campaign.
