Beginning Tuesday, the launch of WONDR NATION becomes official.

Formerly known as Mashantucket Pequot Interactive, WONDR NATION is an online gaming and entertainment company focused on partnering with top gaming platforms.

The company will continue to be based in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

Industry Veteran Leads Company

Anika Howard, an award-winning industry veteran, will serve as the company’s CEO and president. Howard has been recognized for steering gaming companies into evolving territories.

Before joining WONDR NATION, Howard worked with iGaming operators such as International Game Technology, Foxwoods Resort Casino and Caesars Entertainment.

In those roles, she focused on developing online interactive products and experiences.

Howard said she is “proud and honored” that the tribe has tasked her with leading the new venture.

"With WONDR NATION, we hope to bring a fresh approach to what's next for the gaming industry,” she said in a statement.

Through WONDR NATION, players can engage with gaming platforms such as FoxwoodsONLINE and DraftKings. This will allow players to participate in a variety of social and real-money games.

Company To Partner With Other Tribes

WONDR NATION will continue the tribe's tradition and commitment to local communities through partnerships with educational institutions and other organizations, according to a news release.

One of the tribe’s goals is to develop tribal and local talent and expertise in emerging technology.

WONDR NATION also will focus on expanding the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation's digital footprint. The company also will continue to partner with other Native American tribes and technology companies.

Tribal Chairman Rodney Butler, pictured far right, said the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has always championed “innovation and empowerment.”

"From lawmakers and regulators to community members and patrons, we're deeply grateful and honored to continue sharing our tribe's ongoing passion for entertainment through the next frontier of interactive gaming,” he said.
