PA Casinos Slapped With $212,500 In Fines

Three Pennsylvania casinos were served with a total of $212,500 in fines after the PA Gaming Control Board (PGCB) found them guilty of violation of their license conditions. The fines were voted upon during the PGCB’s February meeting and were levied against Rivers Philadelphia Casino, Penn Interactive’s former online casino Barstool, and Hollywood Casino York.
Underage Gambling and Insufficient KYC Among Reasons Quoted
The PGCB quoted several reasons for imposing the fines, the most serious among them being a lack of Know Your Customer (KYC) processes that could potentially lead to identity fraud, and underage gambling. The fines were divided as follows:
- $97,500 on Penn Interactive online casino for failing to implement sufficient protocols to safeguard against identity theft, and the fraudulent use of stolen payment devices.
- $65,000 on Rivers Philadelphia Casino for not providing enough staff and for failing to report the theft of a voucher to the police.
- $50,000 on Hollywood Casino York for allowing three incidents of underage gambling.
Board Also Bans Three Adults from PA Casinos For Leaving Minors Unattended
During the same sitting, the PGCB also handed down a ban to three adults who left their children unattended while gambling. One male player left a nine-year-old unattended in a vehicle in the parking lot of Presque Isle Downs and Casino; a women left three children aged four, seven and 12 alone in a vehicle in the same parking lot; and another woman left a 12-year-old alone in a car at the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse.
